It doesnt work that way. The esc has to be designed around the motor. The companies see whats outthere and build a semi-universal code to run whatevers out there. Thats your different timing setting come from.If someone designs a new motor(little screamers) there may not be a controller to run it properly. That is very possible. I can tell you that theyre telling the truth when they say that.

Mark please reduce your strut angle and just try a1657 please just try it?Scott just call andy and tell him what you got . Maybe a custom cnc prop is what this bad boy needs> One thing when someone does design a esc around this monster ,its gonna be a bad boy.Comment

My prop shop props were 3 bladers and so was one of the 460 props I tryed. The motor couldn't pull a 462 with 1.4 pitch. What makes you think it will work any better with a 462 with 1.6. I agree this motor needs to be able to swing a bigger prop and the 1667 would be great if it could. But I can"t make it do what it doesn't want to do. My Neu 2230 can swing a 70mm 4 blade prop but thats not the topic here. I'm curious to see if the swordfish controllers work good or not though.

Were still talking about the 650kv motor right? If racers are having Amp issues now what size ESC are we going to need with the 800kv version, scary........
I've had CC 240HVs and have seen the bog factor like Mark stated, same thing with Kontronics HV, they just don't can't cut-it. I've been using Huaya 200HVs(aka Twinkie) great low-cost alternative to the Pop-tart on my HV setups. Controller has been working flawlessly with no bog. I've yet to test my Screamer with the Huaya to busy getting my club boats ready for the new season. Should be ready in June.~~~~~~~~`Mach 5 racing'~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ken, I dont think its an amp draw thing. The batteries and controller are barely warm after 7 laps. Its the controller not sinking up with the motor. I can't believe no one else has run this motor on a different controller except the XPS guys.
