Can anybody out there tell me if my page 4 in section 28 is current? Mine's dated 6/30/08

If it's right we ALL really need to work on our flying start procedure. iii) concerns time segments that I'm not going to go into detail on but the next one deserves some attention. (the whole page really needs our attention if we're going to "do it right" but I'm not that much into typing.)

iv) All boats will leave the launch area and will go to the left of the start buoy and to the right of the buoys in the left end of the course. All boats will then utilize a 3/4 mill during pit time and during clock time.

I know I'm confused. I think it's calling for a 3/4 lap back to the start line but the way I see it it could be a half lap just as easy. Our start buoy (doubling as offshore marker) is pretty much a straight shot out from the launching area. It would be really easy to go straight across from it and hang a right coming back to the buoys on the right side of the course. You would still be going to the right of the buoys on the left end?

Maybe we should bring some rule books along Sunday and try to figure this out before getting closer to nats time?

I believe the Nats are a full lap mill. So sit in the front straight at the start/finish bouy till you want to start.

That's another thing that the book covered as in "no boat will stop during mill time" or something to that effect. Another reason I was thinking it might be a good idea for us all to review the namba guidelines for how it's supposed to be done.

Their only sitting start method is for the LeMans type start and that one requires an assistant to hold the boat until the start horn sounds.

We dropped some pins in our lake finally, and are getting some practice running around them. I'm planning on being at Akerman Sunday for P- Mono and LSH.
As far as going over to the other coast and running, I'd love to but I'll will see what my wallet looks like then.
BTW Scott sounds like your boat is running very well. I too noticed a rise in motor and ESC temps lately, (I run every week) and It could be simply the water temps rising out doors... I was getting spoiled running bigger props. Man with that set up you should be able to run all day long with no problem.

Yeah I hope to get a bit of testing on it w/ the changes Ive made before Sunday but we wil see.

I finally got my Namba packet. I read about what Bill mentioned as no boat shall stop during milling. Oops, guess we all screwed that up. Also, Im now confused on what the legal milling format is. To paraphrase, all boats leave the pit area and pass to the left of the start finish bouy. Then head to the right of the left most turn. WTF does that mean? So we are supposed to drive NW until when? We hit the mangroves? Or are they confusingly saying make laps from the start finish bouy and around the right most turn (our east turn, back stretch to front) which would have then made it so you passed to the right of the left most turn.. I guess, in poor discription..... Whoever wrote some of these Namba things..... And I think its time for a revision as most of my pages are dated from '06.

The mill at the Nats will be as follows:

Line up left of the fish feeder. ( No one lap mill..good call) Once on plane you may not drop off.

For our group, their fish feeder approximates where our front stretch center buoy is.

Lets try and convert our 1/6 to 1/8 if possible and emulate the Nats course.

So we line up to the left of the center bouy, and once we're up on plane, heading towards the east corner towards the back stretch, theres no dropping off until 5 laps later. Am I interpretting that correctly. Cause, hell, Ill go sit onthe other side and feed the fish if need be
