The biggest weaknes of the Swordfish is water. If you splash it, it's done. I killed the 1st one in my hydro when it got wet. You will definately need to make sure water can't get to it (other than the cooling lines).

It's still not totally waterproof but much better protected than it was. I added some glass along the floor across the bulkhead to the compartment where it's located and added a 1/4-3/8" spacer to get it above the floor as well.

If the boat sinks it will still get wet through the holes for the motor/battery wires and cooling lines but it's now pretty well protected from the water that comes in during normal running.

For you P-mono competitors. Any idea what speeds you are running? Im getting mine closer I think to being able to race. I got it moving yesterday much better than the Sunday before, GPS's at 53mph. But she has some handling issues and shes running a bit warmer than Id like. I back cut the prop last night. We'll see how that goes as it was the first one Ive done. Looks great, but who knows what will happen. Im hoping it will keep the speed, yet drop my draw and temps a little based on a conversation I had w/ Larry a few meets ago.
Just trying to figure out where I stand and how bad a beating Im going to get come Sunday.

What is your setup? What prop are you running? You are not far off on speed. In fact you are probably fast enough. If you get going much faster, you may not be able to keep the boat on the water. What kind of temps are you seeing?

Yep no coating. Didn't want to take a chance on killing the warranty by doing it.

Yep. Thanks Jim. Still haven't had a chance to show them to Cheryl yet though. Yesterday was a day of chaos at work with being short handed (staff at Miami boat show) and some computer issues.

I don't think so although people from here were probably floating back and forth between the two. Both company's have the same owner.

Leopard 4082, 2200KV, Seaking 180 (soon to have extra caps), M445 (now back cut, but havnt tried it out yet and 4S2P totalling 8000 or 10000mah depending on which set I run, both 30C

temps were getting upper 140s on the Seaking caps, motor was mid 130s, and batteries were 115ish. The bullet connectors were really hot, 5.5s were at upper 160s. On my 3rd outting one let go and became unsoldered. I think it was my fault though as I was soldering them the night before and one was giving me issues.. it just wouldnt flow right. I believe that was the one that came undone.

I had not adjusted the tabs, both sets were actually up a bit. Since running, Ive put the stinger back to neutral (was slightly down to keep the nose from lifting) and adjusted the tabs where the port side is down maybe 1/32 and the starboard is down just a tad more.

Heres a vid of mine and Osprey21 from Sunday. We both are running the same boat w/ slightly different set ups. He was running smaller props a bit lower speeds. His spins out at about 1:18, mine takes flight at about 1:30

I wouldn't worry at all about those temps. thats cooler than I ran my p-mono. run your boat as it is on sunday and see how you compare to the rest of the p-monos. I think you will be fine.
