I received the following email from the guy that stopped by Akerman park last time we ran. Apparently they have a GREAT place to run at their RV park. Please read the following and then indicate whether you will attend on that date.

I propose that this be our next fun run on Jan 24th rather than Akerman!

Hi Jim, my name is Brian Giardelli and we met at the pond in Sarasota last Sunday. You and I talked about coming to my park to run your boats. I have permission from the park manager to have you and your group to run your boats at ENCORE RV RESORT on Jan 24,2010.
The park is located at exit 220 on 75 hwy.
Please let me know if you are still interested and if the date is acceptable. We have a launching dock. drivers dock, marker buoys and a retrieval boat. I will throw some sausage on the grill for lunch. TTYL BG

I have no idea. Not sure it's that important? More interested in his hospitality and checking out the lake. Maybe we should take a couple of buoys?

May the new year bring us a lake in the Land O Lakes area so we can alternate venues and/or offer sailboats and scale boats activities!

Just confirmed with Brian. Start time will be 10a.m rather than our normal 9 a.m. We will have to park in the parking lot and carry our stuff around the clubhouse. Brian said they will have tables for us.

If you have a SCALE boat or SAILBOAT, bring it! Our club caters to all model boaters!

Mike, get that crazy tugboat done!

Some more detailed directions to the ENCORE RV PARK in Bradenton, FL

Hi Jim, exit 220 on I-75 Southbound, turn right. You are on SR 64 or Manatee Rd. Head west about 1/2 mile and turn right on Cypress Creek which is on the north end of the Wal-Mart parking lot. Head east over I-75 and the ENCORE RV RESORT is on the left hand side.Follow the lake until you reach the clubhouse and park there.
