    Refuse the box exists!

I'm trying to reassemble a boat or two right now. Diego, did you measure that flex cable for me? What is the length?

I'm doing my best to come. Only thing that will stop me is a party/get together for a very close friend's birthday. I'm not sure whether that's this afternoon or later in the evening. What time does everyone go to the pond?

Thanks Egneg, that's what I remember, but wasn't sure. Gotta go and get stuff ready.

            That was the plan

My wife was going to go to the party and I was to come later. Her car didn't start, and I finally diagnosed as a poor connection at the power lead on the fuel pump wiring. By that time it was 2pm and we headed on to the birthday get-together since she was too worried to drive her car separately.

Meanwhile, she spoke with our childhood friend on my cell and now it's MIA! I'm like, WTF did you do with it? Of course, you know me, it was on vibrate and now I'm sure it's dead. It's just like my car keys...they always go in the same spot. When she borrows them, I can't find them anywhere.

            Not a good day.

Anyway, I don't need to share my troubles, but you did ask How did it go? It seemed pretty windy while I was laying under my wife's car mid-day.

It was a bitter/sweet day for team FEMBOT.
Egneg lost a new wire drive and prop on the Xzess II
Later a crowd of people gathered, and the "Ooh & Ahh" session started when Egneg's hurricane blew past everybody. Then she cought the wind and blew over early.
During her retrieval, I put out the Eco. The "Ohh & Ahh" session started again as the eco ran her 3rd and final set of the day.

FYI: CirciutKiller will be happy to join Team FEMBOT as long as we change the name.

I vote we let him join Fast Electric Model Boats (FEMB). We just won't tell him about the last part. LOL!

                I hope he reads this

I guess it's THAT time again. Time when we try to come up with another club name.

Let's start tossing a few ideas around. Anyone want to go first?

I want to keep "FE" in the name. I'd hate to lose the irony.

I got the new wire in the mail today and went to put it in the XS2. It would not go into the coupling. Upon further investigation I found a small piece (11mm) of the other wire still in the collet. I knocked it out and took a close look at it and it was a perfectly clean smooth break - very strange and looked almost if to pieces had been glued together. I am wondering if at the factory during a production run if they are welded with induction to get the proper lengths. I haven't seen anything like this before as it was a brand new wire on it's first run and it only lasted about 10 seconds. Hopefully this one will last a bit longer.

Egneg, when I broke the drive on the Viper, it was a similar clean break. Where did you get the new wire you picked up?

Hotwater, I'm not planning on being at the Haggerstown race, sorry. Running the Renegades is a good idea, we'll have to do that someday soon!

I finally got the XS2 to run without breaking. Loch Fembot was flat and there was very little wind today.

That's great Egneg, congratulations!!! Are you using rockets again? LOL, J/K

I just got the word yesterday, the Blackjack is done with paint. You have to understand I've seen this once during the entire process and it was very early on. I haven't seen anything close to the final product.

I plan on picking up the boat this weekend. When I do, I'll post a picture!
