    Spartan Shaft Size?

Does anyone have any good measurements on the Traxxas Shaft? Reason I ask is I have a customer that lost his and traxxas is out of stock. I want to make some replacements.

    I need the following?

    Shaft diameter?
    Shaft length?
    Cable thickness?
    Cable length?
Length(total) from End of Cable to tip of prop shaft?

Total length of flex and stub shaft all together 15 ¼”
Length from end (where collet goes) of the flex to start of the stub is 11 ½” And the flex is .150 diameter
Stub is 3 ¾” long total
From where the flex goes in & stub begins the shaft diameter of the stub is .195 for a length 2.60” then it recesses down to .187 diameter for a length of .700” then the rest is threads for .400”.
Also the end of the flex where the collet goes is soldered.

      does that help?

They have an oddball prop shaft size the goes through the strut bushing. it sucks

If you build them, they will come. Especially if they are upgraded flex cable.

You can count me in for two.

          Brushless makes a good point.

Because of the odd ball sizing on the prop shaft, another option to consider is offering a new 3/16" strut assembly that will bolt on without modifications (easy for the less experienced), then any upgraded flex shaft that is long enough and with standard 3/16" prop shaft could be used.

Also, the quality of the Teflon liner is suspect. Could be a dollar to made on good quality stuffing tube liners as well.

Just illustrating to concur with JPriami

My guess is that the stub is 5mm to allow the use of standard ball bearings for the strut that has never materialized.

              Very possible, .195" is 4.953mm

Is that step down for 3/16" props or 4mm props?

Cool... nice they run a 5mm shaft. It would also be easy to do 187 cables.

Does anyone mind grinding their own flat for the dog? Should 187 cable be an option or is 150 enough?
