Get over the ready to race stuff...it's marketing! Who Cares !!!!!

the spartan is not is the same class as AQ or PB
and when the new guys who do want to race in real racing and find out that there ready to race Traxxas does not have the stuff to really race...
    well I care about that
and the DF is a great option!
what's even better that even on the Traxxas forums they want a boat that is ready to run without radio and rx, so this DF is actually perfect

I'm not here to defend the Spartan or the DF. I like both. The DF33 is a proven hull and the Spartan has yet to be proved. But I highly doubt that the Force will be in the same price range. If Traxxas offered this hull without RX/TX and batteries it would be even cheaper. C'mon...your not dealing with the same crowd here.

There is no doubt that the DF will out handle the Spartan but I think we should atleast leave it alone untill it is released.

Oh Yeah,,,,I had the Spartan on order, I canceled it due to their delay. Not sure if I will jump on one next spring or not. Time will tell.

Chummer, I may still get the Spartan just for kicks this next spring when it comes out, or if it comes out sooner
because I have and extra CC1520 to try on it

I love the look of the DF but I still keep going back to the spartan due to this being my first rc boat and I've never ran anything brushless on lipo's so I reakon I'm gunna need the warranty. I have a Losi XXL and from what I read on the MT forums, Traxxas don't get much of a right up. On the backfip to this, alot of the guy's on the forums seem to always talk about mates that have traxxas trucks that they cant keep up with, and how good the traxxas warranties are.
From my point of veiw, If Im gunna roll it, half sink it, fry the ESC or motor, I would rather have a chance that the company I buy it from may replace parts even due to my stupidity. I don't think I'll ever race, I have a lake adjoining my property and I doubt my first boat will ever see another rc boat let alone race another. I do really appreciate the feed back and any other suggestions will be great. Does the Delta Force come with good warranty? Is the ESC and motor waterproof and Foolproof? I also need to be sure that there will be an Australian Hobby shop that will be able to help me out with warranty issues as the shipping back to the states is costly, from what I've researched I think most ozzie hobbie shops stock traxxas but Im not sure about the DF's can anyone save me some time and let me know?

well the biggest possible reason you don't hear much about Traxxas on real forums is they really don't have the stuff to go up against Losi and Associated
on the flipside Traxxas pays the bigger bucks to magazines and that's why they always win awards
like this boat winning the boat of the year, give me a break, it may not even come out in 2010 and it wins an award
                it's all about the money
I think Traxxas may have it's hands full with warranties on the esc and motor
and possibly one more reason they have yet to release this boat is they may just be having issues with the esc?
most any boat setup right will work just fine and a warranty is not needed any how

like what was posted in another thread to your search on OSE, this is a killer boat (DF) and is the one I would put my money on first

either way monos are very fun on the water

                    confession

Something's been subconciously bugging me since reading this thread and I finally got in touch with it and need to get it off my chest. It seems that lots of comments about the Spartan come from those of us that have a few "miles under our belt" in FE and come from a "performance-mod" viewpoint. I think we need to give some slack to the entry-level guy who'se looking at the Spartan as a decently priced, all-in-one package that helps a new guy experience FE without getting in too deep with all the "tweaking" that lots of us have come to enjoy. When I read Mr. Snowride's comment that said : "...The Spartan is an every day Joe start me out in the world of FE with everything I need to have fun without issue..." it resonated with memories of how I got started & I guarantee that if the Spartan was available back then I would of jumped in with one. It is what it is, and should be a great "bang for the buck" way to attract more good folks to our FE fellowship.

Also a lot of conclusions being drawn on something no-one has yet to get their hands on......

I agree with this statement and doby's 100,000,000,000% ..... I mean geesh when has traxxas really ever made a statement that they were at the very edge of technology as far as racing goes... I think what their motto is "fun", ease of use and Maintanence, and parts availability everywhere.., I think this is gonna be a great boat, and one that people who normally don't or wouldn't buy boats will own BECAUSE it "IS" a Traxxas... again I think we should just appreciate Traxxas for producing a boat, its gonna only do good things for us....and you know sometimes good things come to those that wait, lets just be appreciative that Traxxas "wants" to work out all the kinks rather then bring something to market with any issues.....

And, Brushless55 lets try and remember.... "don't have anything to go up losi and associated?" hmmm.... don't think losi or associated had a SC truck that competed with the SLASH or like a year???.... took forever for Losi and Associated to even know what happened...never the less come out with a truck..... when was the last time losi or associated came out with a product like the T-Maxx, Revo, and SLASH, products that have literally taken the nation by a storm??? where were these two? if Traxxas is only good at marketing, etc., BOY they are REALLY REALLY good at it! Funny thing is I live in Vermont... we have about 3 hobby shops in the State...lol.... yet all the young kids have heard of Traxxas and many have one.... very few know what losi or associated is?

I'm guessing here, but It could be that the AQ (& PB) offerings became raceable in the "one-design" classes, as in the SV27/Production class. If the Spartan would become a "Production-Class " I'd dig running one.

Good guess but I'm thinking that it was a derogatory comment towards Traxxas, and if thats the case, its was made again out of pure fantasy speculation trying to come off as stating facts.
