Yup, what he said. It was somewhere between 4 and 6 mm. I too used a long needle nose pliers to hold the nut while I turned the allen, a short socket, and had a magnet stick handy to pick up all the nuts and washers I was repeatedly dropping. If mine were leaking around the shaft from an oversized hole, I would be phoning Horizon for a warranty assistance. Best, Steve

Thanks for the help and so quickly as well, this is my 1st RC boat so every piece of advice is appreciated.
I'll have to hire my little nieces to help me out, maybe they can hold the pliers inside the hull for me. Ha
Here is a picture of the hole in the transom for the stuffing tube, I put a flashlight inside to show the gap better.

Horizon Hobby is very good to work with. If you phone them, and then email them that picture while you are on the phone with them, 'm sure they will be able to help you. That looks like a big oops to me.

Wow, didn't think it was that bad. I got a RTR voracity and a replacement hull and they look nothing like that. Horizon was top notch in replacing hull.

Well it sounds like I need to make a call to Horizon then.
I've taken the boat out twice and haven't hit anything so that's why I was shocked by the amount of water inside.
I really don't want to ruin my new batteries, especially being 1/2 the price of the boat itself.

Why not seal it yourself and be done with it? Something like that I wouldn't think twice about just fixed it myself and move on and have fun with it. It's a super easy fix.

I added 2 coats of plastidip to the inside and 2 more outside but I won't know how it helped until I take it out tomorrow. I just wanted to ask the other members if my problem was the norm for a RTR boat or something blantenly wrong. Like I said, this is my 1st RC boat so I wasn't sure if leaks were just part of the hobby.

Ok. Well I wouldn't use plasti dip awaits outgoing to hold long. Two choices. Either silicon or two part epoxy. I'd prefer epoxy myself. Make sure you temporarily seal it from the outside first so the epoxy don't run out. That may be a good use for the plasti dip. You can pull it off the after epoxy cures. Go to Walmart. Get some loctite brand 5 minute epoxy. It's usually by the house paint section. Mix up a little bit of it about the size of a quarter and then drizzle it down into that crevice with the boat facing up. Be quick about it as it sets pretty fast. Wait a couple hours and pull the plasti dip on the outside. Don't put the plasti dip on the inside

Well that ship has already sailed (pun intended), I put 2 light coats inside and outside.
It's the dipping version not the spray which is safe for fiberglass.
I'm going to hold off on sealing the bolts for the trim tabs since it seems that adjustable tabs are a worthwhile investment and I'll do that while installing the new ones.
OSE said that the plug and play adjustable trim tabs for the Voracity have been recalled but the fixed version should be coming in stock soon.

Get my voracity out yesterday night for a run and i got 52 mph on the gps ! The water was a little bit too choppy to be able get a clean ride , but i'm pretty happy with the result ! Got the stock motor and esc , I just get a Octura X447 / 3 S&B on it .

Well I never should go into my local hobbyshop with a few extra bucks the wife doesn't know about, but I did... and left with a Voracity today lol, as if I need another boat :) BTW I am going to bring it out this weekend on a mini trip and wondering what the best prop is to use that I have on hand with the stock gear..

All the props are either OSE props S&B or Dasboata props... I have other props but these seem like the only logical to use...

They're awesome boats. I've been squeezing on mine with 5s and am into the mid 50's now with low temps and good run times. Reinforce the transom though if you want to keep it whole. Steve

X452 woke up my voracity but that only lasted as long as the bullet nut kept her on. Lost my x452 twice due to bullet nuts. I would also say use a OSE HD flex on it. Haven't tried the other props.

I have seen the x452 is being used and I believe it would make it scream... Just something tells me it's to much prop for this motor... Seems like a huge prop lol... I haven't seen anyone try a x447 which years ago would have been what many would suggest... Surfed the tube now for an hour and no 447 props used on stock boat in vids... Decent runtime and mid 50's would make me happy.... Want it to hole shot well too and see stock prop cavitates quite a bit...?

Btw I'm actually stirring up west systems epoxy now, just got done sanding carbon to mix in the epoxy as I removed the rear hardware and put tape over the openings on the outside will drill through the epoxy when it's 90% cured. After my reading I saw that was a must. Just ripped the rudder clean off running in dirty water with another boat yesterday ugh... Fixing it at the same time have my hands full. Hoping the epoxy cures well want to run it tomorrow :)

Double that... don't use bullet nuts and do use the OSE flex shaft.
