Stephen - I found these pics in Jims. Size comparison between a 260 and 200 engine.

I also emailed Andy of AC boats to ask for his recommended boat for the 20cc motor and he replied:

I think a light lay up Lazer-40, that way you have a new technology hull, plus the Lazer-40 has a deck stringer, and bulk head making it super strong.

I just hope you didnt bend it while it was connected to the engine !

Why ? Is that a bad thing to do.

I did both, On and off the motor.

Ok, I used a piece of hard wire and layed it on the pipe in the center of the OD,
I have distance measured of 14 1/2 dead on form head port to the fates part on the belly.
So that should be pretty good I hope.

Just trying to avoid unnecessary strain to the exhaust port of the engine as they already take a lot of beating when it is running due to vibrations. You dont want to develop cracks or bolt thread stripping.

Lenny - the best hardware for your cat would be Speedmaster, but if you find them a bit pricey - HOR in Hong Kong are good alternatives. Tom of Expresscraft in Florida carries HOR stuff. http://www.expresscraft.com/

            1/4 skeg strut

            rudder

            Some stuff that we use:

You can go Fuel tank or use an IV bag:

If you go fuel tank, you need to replace the rubber cap for gasoline use - the one that comes with the tank is for nitro:

            Tees and elbows:

6v LiFe battery (This is better than NiMh):

            http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...iver_Pack.html

            Dubro universal kwik switch:

Servos, Rx, Fuel filter, fuel line, water line, linkages and pushrods...........and floatation.
Just some of the stuff that you need to complete a gas boat.

I see that some of the guys in Jim's Dock are helping you out - awesome! Certainly lots of help there!

Sometimes, instead of waiting for the specific items you need in the market place - post a thread asking for help in setting up a boat. Just mention that you are new to gas boats and you'll see a lot of guys giving good advice, info and offering you the parts you need. Some would even give you the part for free - just pay for shipping!
              Best route to take, IMHO.

I guess with a new 20cc engine class, you gotta have both a cat and vhull eventually .............. but in this particular case, my possible concern is only with the vhull as we can have a Komodo at any time anyway, right?

I could only assume at this time that the possible preferred hulls for the 20cc would have lengths of 35"-40". Andy of AC boats was kind enough to offer his Lazer 40 with a light layup - which I think is a good candidate.
Proboat's 36" Shockwave maybe considered too or how about MMP's 39" Rapid? Does anyone have a feedback on the MMP Rapid?

I know that there are quite a few DF boats that would fit the length, but would like to look elsewhere if possible.

Sandy has pursuit 33". I wonder if the g200 will fit? I was thinking of a Pursuit 33" for my castle 1717 on 6S.

Just got in the parts to complete my bj29 build from hull and canopy and have a question about how the rubber boot that the servo rod goes through.
How should it be installed from the outside pushing it into the transom and does proboat use anything to hold it in like glue or anything?
I have a mystic that was a rtr that I put a tacon 2150 an seaking 180 in.(runs awesome btw thanks for the help guys)
This one I am trying out a castle 2200 with a seaking 180 and water jacket that I just picked up from OSE .This will be my first build from bare hull and may have a few more questions such as do I need to seal the holes in the transom after installing the strut and rudder?
Thanks for the help and I will post pics and progress of the build.

                              Hi,
Yes, Put the boot top lip through the out side till it sits in flat.
You may need to lube it to get it in right and it should say their.
If it rips than clean it good and then use ca or sealer to hold it their.
                              ose-boots.JPG

                              On strut and rudder,
You can put a little rtv silicone on the bolts and in the holes and than tighten them.
Than run and check for leaks after 1 to 2 minutes.
