No worries, I have time! Im about done with the cardboard mockup on the F-41 Cat anyway as it will be given to my worker to do the bondo work needed.
To save on bondo, I sculpted some foam with a sharp xacto knife to fill in the canopy bulk.
Very slick and creative,, im gessing youll just fiberglass over that?? Still havent gotten the new mg hatch yet but im sure it will be here soon,, on the genesis hatch do you thing you can do it like the real one you no with the actual air rams and tail wing thing??? id love for this build to look almost identical to the real boat well before it burned up!!!

Thanks Jerry!
We still need to slap a thin coat of bondo to that and to curve corners so it looks like a single flowing canopy. I also need to etch a windshield profile after the bondo so it would be captured in the mold.
I'll see what I can do to the Genesis canopy when it arrives. Althou, thin details like a tail fin might just break off in a blow over.
Your turbine hatch should've arrived since Monday as it was shipped via EMS - I will get the tracking number by tom and will pm you.
Ahhh, bondo i didnt think about that,, is the hatch going to go all the way back or no cuz the gas motor.. I hear ya with the blow over thing but i think ive only done that once with one of my hydros but yeah i understand, was just trying to keep it original looking, anyway we'll see... im not in a big hurry on the mg hatch so if it takes alittle while its ok im sure it will show up soon..

In gas boat talk - thats what you call a half cowl/half canopy - just keeping air flowing inside the boat so heat of the motor can easily vent out. The half cowl/canopy serves both as aesthetics and from avoiding water splashes to hit your carb.
In tropical countries, gas boats are run without any cowl/canopy - typical of monos. But with Cats - you gotta put something in front or it just doesnt look nice.
Aww i understand,,its realy alooks thing, hahaha just playin, i got it.
Im actually starting to believe that even a half canopy serves more than good looks. I tried a half canopy on my Geico gasser and found it to run just a bit smoother - it kinda deflects the incoming air flowing on the top deck outward - as oppose to it going inside the boat and hitting the transom.
I do envy you guys that has a colder weather which also means colder water that passes thru the motor - and with modified gas motors running full tilt, you need everything and anything that would help to cool it down.
Our retrievers certainly learn fast on how they pickup our stalled gas boats - a touch of their fingers to either the motor or the pipe would be a lesson learned! hahahaha!
Hey Shawn, I got the CF plates. Thanks buddy! My wife picked them up at the post office this morning. They look great! Now I just have to make sure I have the templates right so not to waste the cf plates with stupid miscalculations. hehehe!
Hi guys! sorry for this is way out of topic. Can anybody direct me where I can get a wind turbine generator with controller that can supply 200W of power continuously for 12hours a day? probably I need something that has more than 200W capacity to sustain the 200W power requirement. These are also known as windmill power generators. The cheaper the better! Thanks!
Ok whats the deal,,, you guys dont play here anymore!!! weres all the talk about boats, hummm must have all switched to Slash trucks..
Hay Mac nothing yet bud, yeah maybe you should check the tracking on that thing..
