My MG spun out and went airborn at 55+ for about 20-30 feet then landed backwards and the sponsons! The genesis was very fast as well. Both boats never got over 80 degrees on esc, batts, motors! Tons of fun. Now it's time to strip the MG and ship it out to Shawn for paint and strengthening!!!!! Its going to look killer with the NEW turbine canopy from Macdon and paint from Shawn.....
Hey Jason - yup, that happened to my MG as well. It spun around and even cartwheeled but still going! Always thankful to what we get to learn from our friends here in OSE. Strengthening and reinforcement really does help! Well, until the time we get hit by a fellow boater - hahahahaha!

We also had a blast yesterday! We run the custom boat and maiden the F1 tunnel. We got in late about lunch time so we didnt get to run the princess boat! The custom boat run for about 15-20min! My fellow boaters already run their electric & gas boats and we were still running the boat.
It was the first time for me to run a F1 Tunnel and use an outboard so I was quite excited. From stand still, the boat shot up in the air and landed on its back hahahahaha! I told the retrievers to just turn it right side up and to try running it again.
The F1 porpoised bad - clapping the water as it went. I couldnt muster more than 25% -50% throttle but decided to finish a battery instead.
I readjusted the REK outboard as it was too positive and the second run proved to be a different beast! I LOVE this boat!!!
I didnt know that running a F1 tunnel was such great fun! It handles just like my MG, but with a higher cog, so I took a bit wider turns. The Dumas F1 may not be competitive compared to the newer and current F1 designs, but for a basher its absolutely perfect! My fellow boaters who has F1 tunnels using nitro are now thinking if they will convert it to FE as they see that I was having such a great time running it! hahahaha!

Here's a short youtube video taken by my son while I was doing the second run of the F1 tunnel. The 36 size 1600kv outrunner motor is a smooth performer, but it also made me think of trying a 1800-2000kv inrunner motor for next Sunday?

            Thanks Shawn!

            You mean these birds? .................

My son caught a shot with a bird on top of a styrofoam floating across the pond and sometimes they're on top of our plastic buoys.
Yeah, they dont seem to care ............till we pass our boats around the buoys which scare them off! hahahaha! They're all part of the fun!

Isnt your summer the month of June? You're gonna wait from now till June till you run boats again? Man, you can wait that long?
For us, if we dont get to run our boats in a week's time - we go bonkers! hahahaha!

Well, I guess thats possible - Tagasagwan hasnt been to the pond for more than a month now. He was absent again yesterday - as usual! haha!

Wow! I envy ya Jason - Shawn does great paint works! I wonder which turbine canopy he'll use as a test bed - yours or his? hahahahaha! Just kidding!
Now you made me think about my MG - retain and wait or have it a go with a new paint job!
Too much to think about and after the boating yesterday - my adrenaline is high! Its hard to focus on building a canopy for the 37" cat in these conditions! hahaha!

I think I can just move it to the other side of the prop shaft.
Ooppss - sorry to miss this one bud! You're right, it seems a page pass me by hahahaha! Glad to hear the turbine canopy arrived in just 1 week! That looks mighty good on top of your custom painted MG! It will look killer now with the new canopy and hope you get to post step by step pics of your paint works to give us some inspiration to paint our own boats.
Geesh, its hard enough for me to think of a paint theme for my boats, but Im hoping to be inspired by the F1 tunnel's run yesterday to possibly design a good paint theme for it.

If Tagasagwan is not so busy, I would've let him paint my MG (No! Dont add more scratches to my boat! hahaha!) With his painting skills and contacts with custom vinyl decal makers, Im sure he could achieve a killer boat as well! Once I get my custom "Geico Caveman" decals from him for my gas boat, I'll post pics.

Ya know Mac,I was hunting around for that inspiration for Jasons and was looking at theMiss Geico site. The three scoop canopy is growing on me.I won't say the other sites I went to though,Hehe.
I'm trying to design the paint on the turbine canopy on the MB to be somewhat different from the existing but still match the lines. It's a daunting task. But fun brainstorming. Now I'm walking around with pencil and notepad because I never know when that light bulb will come on "that's what I'm gonna do" .

Did Jason request any specific paint theme in mind?
Yup, its daunting enough to think of a paint theme for yourself - much more for someone else's.
You certainly get inspiration from basically anything - I too walk around and get ideas as they strike you like lightning! You're better at that method with having a pen and notepad with you. Maybe I should do that too.

Ya like that 3-scoop canopy? I still have mine which is actually boxed up already. We boxed that up to get an accurate shipping weight so I could get you guys an accurate shipping quote on the turbine canopy. If you feel like making a trade for it - just holler! :) Its always nice to have different looking canopies for a single hull!

Whoever designed the 3-scoop canopy of the new Geico Racing boat must've had the same inspiration with H.R. Giger's concept when he did the shape of the Alien's heads in the movie! hahahahahaha!
Well, the canopy is certainly the "sexiest" part of a boat anyway! hahaha!

Hey macdon, your F1 looks great. It seems to handle very well for a tunnel. I am very excited that Shawn will bless my MG with with painting skills and with your beautiful custom canopy. He wants me to send both canopies and is talking about painting both! I am going to let him paint whatever he wants!!!!

Guilty as charged you Honor! Hahaha! Yup! Too many motorcycles to repair! We actually have 3 units here now that needs complete engine rebuilding! If I was not too busy Macdon, I would have painted my Skunkworks, SM29 and probably gave my good old SV27 its 3rd paint scheme!

BTW, I have your large Caveman, small caveman, Cigarette and Geico's 113 decals done. i'll drop by your place one of these days to give you those decals.

I can't charge my batteries cause both my chargers broke down on me! I'm still waiting for my twin Hyperion chargers to arrive! When it does, I'll start making my portable charging station with built in 1SM battery source. Hehehe!

I'm thinking of something like this for my SV27

It seems like Shawn is excited to paint stuff. I'd say strike while the iron is hot!
Painting and/or customizing are artistic blends that shouldnt go to waste - its kinda like a mood swing. When it strikes you (sometimes seldom), you have to give in and give it all you got!
Most of the time, I get lazy to start a project - but when I get to start, my focus is locked on. Sometimes, just going out and buying materials that you suddenly run out of throws off my focus and its hard to get it back again. Sometimes even a break to eat throws it off.
