Anybody got any ideas for a couple of pins for the rear of the hatch,I was thinking a pin with a ball on the end slid though a tube.I know what will work but don't know if they make one this small and where.I do have a body post through the front and the canopy is solid.

      Jerry & Shawn,

The HK Princess is not bad for $200 shipped. Mine came with a 3660 1620kv inrunner motor with a water cooled mount, servo and running hardware. I did replace the stock rudder for a bit longer one - but everything else was stock. The mods I mentioned in the previous page was already the most extensive I've done to that specific boat and it is quite a looker as well!
After running it a few weeks, the solder of one bullet connector of the motor failed and the heat shrinks that covered the wires of the motor kinda melted - my fault as I was really enjoying running the Princess having 8-12min runtime on a single 4s batt.
I easily soldered the bullet connector and used it for weeks, till that Sunday where my son capsized the boat and we lost the rear hatch. If not for that, the Princess would still remain stock.
As I am currently building her up again, I replaced the 1620kv inrunner with a 1600kv 36 size outrunner. I wanted it to have a bit higher torque to handle the stock 48mm prop.
You could make the princess move fast, but the hull is bulky - I like it for sport running and something you feel relaxed running.

Shawn - I too was deliberating on getting the Princess before, but glad I did! There is so much you could do to it as the hull is large. If you can actually open the whole top, you could place a 30" FE boat inside hahahahaha! Yup, you could always run it scale or sport - place gadgets like lights, camera, etc. It has such a big hull that it might accept a Zenoah gas engine and still close the canopy!

So there is room for my spare 1717 or is that a case of overkill and waste?

Hahahahahaha! I asked that same question to Tagasagwan last night - or rather what Castle motor would be good for the HK Princess. But yeah, its overkill and waste - really. There are tons of china motors out there that would be sufficient for the princess instead and I dont think a $100 or more motor would be worth it - im not saying that the princess boat isnt a great running boat, but its not something that should break any speed records either. I think its look should be appreciated, so sport running is enough for me. Well, unless you got a bunch of Castle motors in your spare bin with no boats to go to.

I also thought of using those inexpensive jet-like propulsion like the NQD boats or maybe use a BL motor and a 12v motorcycle battery for longer run times? too many options and mods you can do with the princess. You'll be glad you bought it!

But hey, you got a spare 1717? Wouldnt that be perfect for the 37" Cat on 6s?

I figure your right about appreciating the looks of the boat,I may just do the boat in my previous post. It's 36" or so,has twin brushed motors and was my stepfathers boat built by myself.Man that was long ago.

I've got another jet boat to get finished yet too
I'm trying to decide whether to complete it or
move on to the Miss Bud hydro next after the RC pics 010.jpgRC pics 009.jpg

            little mono.
Sorry about the format here,I am playing around and figuring it out.

I do have the Fightercat mount for the 1717 so I guess it would be better in say, some 37"catamaran,I'll keep my eyes open. I'll have to put a ton of batteries in the sponsons to offset the high weight in the hull.Or--put a big prop on and see what speed it blows over.

F1 basher is coming along - made separators and adhered/strengthened them with fiberglass! The single 4s batt would be on its side to accommodate the esc on the opposite wall. Hoping to run this on Sunday!

                  "37 Cat Update

Ride pads about done. Continuing sanding/shaping the hull to make it look sexy! hahaha

I'll probably be making 2 - 3 different canopies for this particular cat. I have 2 designs in mind, third will probably come more later.

I notice you boys are good at keeping details in the mould.Any chance you can add hatches and/or vents to the hull so we don't have to pester MonoJeff?
Sort of semi scale. Not to be picky, just a question.

Hahahaha not particularly. Just providing choices. So, if one is for single, the other one is for a twin - what would be the third one, gas?! hahahaha I could almost see Jason looking at our direction!

That's what I'm saying,a 1717 in one and a lightweight twin.I'm gonna need some projects for next winter.I think I may get through all the current ones by spring.I may have to move closer to my lake.
