Jeeesh, with all you guys showing off your rc cars - it made me look into completing my xray M18T hehehehehe! A combo of 1:18 esc, motor and 2s batt will just cost around $50 - so not bad due to its small size.
Its been more than 2 decades since I last painted a clear body, so maybe I'll look around for a painted body I can find. Stephen told me that he has a painted rc18 body - but mounting holes with my xray chassis will not fit.
Do I still need to sign up in a xray forum? For some reason, Im too lazy today! hehehe Must be the heat!

So I started to build a boat for my wife with some of my spare parts. Here is what I have so far. Apparition catamaran with a Leo 4074 2200kv, Turnigy T180, small prop to keep the speeds around 40-45mph... What prop should I use? X440???

The 440 should be good to start Jason.I wish I could just be "happy" with moderate speeds.But not,must be my old drag racing/car building days shining through.

Ed, the harborfreight stuff is ok but not very good quality but for as much as you need it or as much as i need mine it was the cheapest route,, not sure on a regulator cuz i got the cheap one and i can tell you it sucks!!!
Srislash looks like you like the big truck styles, i also have a Stampede that i dont run anymore but my wife wont let me sell it..
Jason dont make the boat to sweet or youll wanna keep it for your self!!! she wont like that!!
Macdon that is a cheap price for the Xray parts, Lucky that price wouldnt hardly get me a battery!!!when i get home "O yes'' there will be more pics, i love seening pics keeps everyone juiced up!
PS Mac i sold an old esc to a guy on rcgroups forum just waiting to make sure he got it then ill have some money for one of those premo Turbine hatches,,hope you got one left..

Cant really argue with the price, but then again 1:18 is just half the size of what you guys usually run.

Of course, there's a CC Mamba combo that'll probably cost $100 or more, but its just something I dont wanna spend on this particular size anyway.
As for battery, the only 2s that would fit in a 85mm length compartment is just a 1200-1300mah anyway - so thats less than $10 for 1 2s battery.
Yeah, they're cheap - but so is the size of the xray truck. I guess it could always be a pocket rocket to take anywhere if thats the thing.

With boats, going from FE to Gas do tell that I prefer larger stuff - but a larger truck would mean bigger grounds to run on or hobby tracks in the city which is something I just dont want to do at the moment.
Althou, with the 1/18 truck - one's house could already be the playground!

i like having both sizes of cars, that way you can run anywhere, anytime... my mini8 is a pocket rocket even with the stock xcelorin motor. as soon as i put in the cm26 motors (4600kv & 6800kv) i bought from stephen they're going to fly

I hear you Mac, something small is nice too, my 1/16 erevo and the 1/10 scale slash are realy to big for my yard so id run them down my road, my neighbor's like seeing them and its funny when one comes down my road and i pull over to let them go by and half way past i blow by them, they always smile!!! Yeah wheres stephen must be on a brake somewhere, hahaha..

well tonight in a super hurry i got two more colors on the Genesis,, if you cant tell i sprayed flat black the dusted over it with some silver to try to give it that metallic to it,, the flat black is all i had, hope it looks gloss black after it clear all of it??

Its a vintage 46" Prather Fun Cruiser Jerry. We took off the decals, rubbed and sanded. We will paint a base color white before planning a new paint theme for it.
It originally uses a Homelite (weed cutter) gas engine but we will be replacing it with a CY 26cc marine gas motor.

Im liking the one with the Hot pink on it, that sets it off....that is an old style hull i remember those from back in the day!!! Cool,,
Skyman the only thing i airbrushed was the carbon fiber look everything else i used spray cans,, ill have to look to see what brands tonight, mostly Rustolium or duplicolor, the candy green is made by Testers model spray paint i got from the craft store, i just liked the color on the can so i grabbed it when i was there, but not so sure i like it on the hull, maybe after i clearcoat it!!! So by what i have already on the boat can anybody think of another color to go over the rest of the gray primer???? i think i have some blue,silver,white.neon green, and red paint left, i was thinking the silver then a black windsheild!!!
