here's how I do it. I first set the mount in the right angle and placement and apply small amount of ca glue just to hold it in place. then I bring it to mardon's place and have his worker apply epoxy resin mixed with fiberglass to permanently keep it in place. hehehe! in short, use ca first and apply fiberglass and resin. you may also use cf and cf resin.
yea, that's the best way, i couldn't see any other way... when the fiberglass is applied how soon do you trim along the edges of the mount in order to get a nice clean look? that would be important esp. with cf. you would need nice clean edges to make it look good.
Find a removable plug that would fit the antennae.
You'll find out later that if for any reason water gets in the hull - you'll find it hard wiggling the boat upside down just to get all the water out via the canopy opening. The antenna mount could be your drain.
My favorite show on tv is American Chopper on Discovery. Do u know it? Its almost like a male version of a soap opera. I love it! And u get to look at some beautiful bikes being built.
Anybody looking for an Aeromarine Pro Cat?
A friend I met earlier in Jim's Dock recently had a blow over wherein the front of his cat opened up like a mouth when it smacked the water. Check it out here:
It is very repairable but he doesnt have the time to do it, so he is looking to sell his procat for $50 - $100. 50" long with a very nice green paintjob!
Just thought I'd throw it out there.
any idea where i can find the plastic nuts or should i just use regular metal one?Just use metal ones
16. 5A UBEC - which one do u recommend? Any brand with Input of up to 6S,Wrong Output 6Volts, 5Amps or higher. You only need 5s in this application so you can get a cheap one $5.FC had them but no longer. 6s and up are $30
17. Shawn's template for CF rails for the motor mount
shawn, is this for when you remove the wood? send it anyway :)I only removed the wood back to the bulkhead where the stuffing tube comes in.That is neccesary to get alignment and good fit.
18. Flex cable - .150 or .187 ?? Get the .187
is this the cable that goes through the stuffing tube? will that size fit?If you use the teflon you need a .150.Is it installed already? That is what I run.If there is no teflon then a .187

The owner of that green boat is named Joe Mata and I got to know him a few weeks back when I bought his Futaba system in Jim's Dock. Thru our pm conversations, I learned that his dad is a Filipino and that they're planning a trip to visit the Philippines by the end of this year.
I'm sure he'll join our boating fun when he comes.
Here's more - he knows Jason as he traded with him more than once and I said its a coincidence since I know Jason as well! He said he plans to pm Jason if he'll be interested in this green pro cat as it was also Jason who got his busted Cat which Jason posted here in this thread a few months ago.
first of all, thank you so much for your help guys... i appreciate it!
shawn, in reponse to your comments:
-are you saying to get both props? x445 and m645?
-how can i tell if the teflon is installed already? seems like there is another plastic tube inside the stuffing tube (ref. attached pic please)

Yup, that right there is the Teflon tube. Just pull that white sorta plastic tube out since you're going bigger flex shaft anyway.
BTW - you see that green painted gas boat Cat I posted above? That's the reason why we reinforce the seams around the boat.
