Hi all, We installed the castle 2200 motor, 6cell lipo voltage, offset rudder, COG about 10 inches from back. Motor was hardly warm at all, esc was slightly warm, they both took the voltage with no problem at all. Still need some dialing in but it is very close. It was very fast and pretty stable for the speed, the problem we had was...........
The stuffing box overheated from the extreme rpm's. This must have caused (we are guessing) the flex cable to twist up (looked like a wound-up rubberband) and broke. It took all our might for two of us to pull out the remaining part of the flex. My question is, should we put a new flex in and try again with more grease maybe? Or try maybe a wire drive or something in that line? Or some other idea? Thanks!
