Thanks again for everyone's input, again every comment is appreciated!

I just ordered .078 wire components from Steven. I am going to give the wire drive a try to see if I can keep this high rpm setup.

We'll be practicing on Friday afternoon and heat racing all day Saturday and untill early afternoon on Suday. Drop by if you've got some free time and want to check it. PM me if your interested and I'll send you directions.

I just installed a .78 wire in mine haven't driven it yet but had no problem with the bend infact it seemed even smoother than the flex cable but I guess ill find out soon enough. That boat was hitting atleast mid 50's from what could see I have a vid of mine doing 57.4 and it looked pretty close to that. That is a lot of rpms though I thought I was pushing it with my 1518 1800 on 6s but hey whatever works. The more rpms the more likely to break something even worse imo

Did you put new tubing inside the existing stuffing box? Or did you remove the existing tubing and install a whole new stuffing box? Im glad to hear that it seems like the bend will work.

Also thanks for your input about the speed.

            Thanks, John

While waiting for the drive parts I looked closer inside and found the wood that holds the motor mount coming loose, also one battery tray broke loose on one side. The front right sponson and center between the sponsons is splitting at the seam. I removed the battery trays and put a layer of fiberglass in the bottom for strength and also was able to move the batteries lower at the same time. I fiber-glassed the wood for the mount back in place, also glassed in a motor support to hold the front of the motor as well as a layer of glass all around the motor area. I glassed about a 1/2 wide area on the seam across the front of the boat. (on the outside since i couldn't effectively do it on the inside completely).
