The more I dig into this boat after today's run the more unlucky I get. Can someone confirm if this motor is toast?

It is the front bearing that broke , you need to replace it ! I got that unlucky with my voracity after 10 runs !! Did you try to put your esc on with the motor unplug ??

The Zelos has around that amount of runs, clean runs I should say. Where can I get replacement bearings? Between the ESC and this motor it will be a while before I have a say in this thread again.

Ouch.. Id say its toast. I wouldnt trust it again. If the bearing blew apart, where did the bits go?........ Might have shorted out and taken the esc with it.

As said - did you try unplugging the motor to see if that changes things? Or can you connect any other motor you know is good? Just to eliminate some factors. Motor failures can definitely kill esc's unfortunately. Any lifted caps?? Just some ideas.......

No lifted caps, ESC on the side that the motor that is bad (right side) is fine but the left ESC is the one acting looney. I unplugged the motor only to check why I had serious play (as suggested by Banzee) Indeed it may be the bearings. I have the old ESC that the switch went bad (original ESC) it still functions but you can't power on and off via switch. Programming can be a pain without it. From what it seems from you guys, I may have busted bearings and a busted ESC. Before anyone asks, yes the props are balanced and the struts are aligned to factory specs.

Keagan. Don't let it get to you, when I was running nitro, there was always something that broke or went wrong. Look at it this way, after you figure it all out and get it back in the water, you will be answering all the questions here :)

Haha! That's one way to put it. I was actually thinking of buying a new Zelos as I think it's a great boat but I've not been so lucky with it. Leaks, Bad ESC switch and now another ESC bites the dust and my quest for 60 has been blaaaahhh!!! Lol. It's all apart of the hobby I guess. Another boat might not be the answer though.

If I was in your shoes I would be thinking.....do I have $650. if I did , I would buy a new boat, already have batteries. I would want more speed once I hit 70's. ie; old boat hull and parts... As money permits, build a faster Zelos twin. My thought on this boat...Guys at my pond run mostly gas in the upper 60s and low 70s, I run the Zelos around at only low 60,s and people wanting to look at it, one guy said that's his next boat. Bottom line, very nice boat. Another thought, take the $650 and deck the Zelos out!

I don't really wanna spend on another one right now as I just purchased a used Miss Geico. Even with my streak of unlucky events I still think it's the best RTR! Both the Zelos & Voracity are down at the moment.

                        Voracity needs: Servo & Prop
                        Zelos needs: ESC & Bearings

I found the replacement bearing at the local bearing shop , i was surprise they got some high speed METRIC bearing , it cost me about 13 buck cad . After that the motor run very good ! No difference between a new and the one i replace the bearing . After open the motor , i got no pieces damages inside !! I was happy !

Does the top of the motor pry off or twist off?
