I agree, the ammo 2300 will heat up really fast with that prop. My 642 runs pretty hot, I am gonna try out the octura x640

Do you have any stability issues at that speed? Mine chine walks like mad over 40mph.

I really like the 437/3 blade with the Ammo 2300kv.

Anyone having any speed control issues with the ammo? Ive been through 2 seaking 60a speedos that mysteriously quit working with my 437/3. I just read the specks on the ammo which shows a constant amp rating of 60. Are my speed controls to low of an amperage? I thought guys were running the Ammo 2300 on the stock 45A aquacraft speed controls? Also I cant run the boat full throttle without it porpoising like mad. Will running the boat 1/2 to 3/4 throttle heat up the speed control or increase amp draw?

I wonder why you only see that speed with the Ammo, when I've gone 39.4mph with the stock motor?

I'm doing some testing when the weather clears running 5s on a stock setup

I ran my Ammo2300'ed SV with a Barracuda 125 and 437/3. Partial throttle will heat things up and be harder on the controller, but considering other peoples experience, I'd think 60amps should be enough. Is it on plane or are you plowing water alot at partial throttle? Plowing is bad and really draws amps. The porpoising is likely caused by the CG being too far back (I have my Lipos even with the front of the motor), strut angle being incorrect (mine is a hair lower than neutral, but neutral should work too), or Tabs too deep (mine are 1/16 above the bottom of the transom and neutral).
Maybe the ESC's are thermalling? At least they aren't burning up.
Long runtime will also heat things, how long are you running?

I highly recommend resoldering all the connectors on the motor leads. The factory solder will let go with use and heat. Seen it happen multiple times.

Don't put it in the water with that prop.
