well I just ran the boat with a m445 and it is hauling butt. the gps only read 28 but it is not getting good recep. inside the hull. I raised the strut from 7/8 to 3/4 and put a little angle to raise the bow. it was flying. i am going to try another run with the gps on the outside.

It sounds like your GPS is reading wrong. You should be running 50mph+ with that prop and setup.

well i ran the boat again and the gps said 43, all i know is this thing is flying. when I turn the boat the speedrops way down so I will have to do some research and see why.

well I ran the boat with a x640 and my speed was down, no change in set up from m445. so for now I will stay with the m445 until I can find some one to run with that has some knowledge to tell me if I need to do some set up changes. my temps are about 110 after 5 min.

Give the ABC H-5 prop a try. It's 6mph faster than the M445 on my hydro (33" Whiplash) so it could be similar on your PT. That was with an 8XL 2075 kv motor. But I also run it on a TP Power 2200kv motor in it too. It has a bit more lift than the M445 so you might need to raise the strut a smidge.

I seldom check the temps after a race anymore except with my finger as the setup is so predictable with either motor.
I think the temp was around 50c on the 8Xl & 48c with the TP Power motor when I did do it some time ago.

I would try a M545 if temps were good with the M445.

well i ran the boat at at club test and tune day a couple weeks ago. I had a x448 and boat ran great the guys at the pond were impressed for me being a first time boater. the gps said 52.2mph and was averaging over 220amps and temps were at 150* after 5 laps. someone helped me out and let me try a m445 back cut and and some other major cutting, 53.3 gps but flipped 210amps avg. but temps way down to 120*
