I've just got some out of the norm setups that I like to share with people who aren't aware that the equipment is capable of it

I really appreciate the compliment though. The systems I run are actually some of the least expensive, motor and speedo you can get for around 200, Maxamps batteries are reasonably priced, and the hull was SUPER cheap!

I think Randy has them in ABS (as I ran) for around 30 bux Much of the hardware was scratchbuilt

Much of my success with these boats comes from relentless practice.. It took a long time for me to ever win anything. I'm always shocked when anyone says I have tallent thanx!
Don't feel bad about doing so good. Keep up the good work.

The UL1 is a great RTR kit. It may actually be to fast for a RTR.

I like the Cambells classic for a put it together set up. Easy build, pretty stable, and good looking to boot. One of the spec brushless (Aquacraft or blackjack) combos to me is perfect for these boats. Just fast enough to blow over if you hit the wrong wake but "slow" enough to to remain stable at full song.

Sorry I couldn't give you actual MPH numbers....I just don't know.

Ok .here is my speel......I bought a Miss Attitude hull from Dominator boats and thought /what a strong well made hull. I got it all togather ready to rip up the water and this baot turned into the biggest pile of crap i ever had. It was unstable, crashed for no reason, nose dived and flipped every time you got of the throttleand was upside down 6 times out of ten.It would be a good day if i passed 55-60mph..mabe and a total waist of batteries for the day, but i wanted this hull to work because of its size and strengh. Long story short after a long and painfull battle the boat runs very strong 88mph runs and i know it will go faster. I found out the sponson angles where completly wrong for the hull and had to be redone many times to find the right angle. I love the boat now.

How did you change the angles? Less angle? More angle? Were you choosing less angle to reduce air under the hull?

Bill Oxidean, you are encouraging newbies to buy a boat and your setup with no prior knowledge of the setup procedure and whether they want SAW, sport ,or a racing setup..speed is only good on a SAW setup...60 second run time and can not turn a corner.

I put more angle in but it had to be a very gradual incline from front to rear. You want the boat out of the water so to speak but you also want it to suck itself down at speed. This is just my findings with my own personal boat.

I think the key here is that he is encouraging. A few years back, I went to a race. I asked a few of the guys about their setups. Most of the guys were pompous you know what's. Giving bad advice, or arrogant responses. I almost lost interest because I didn't want to associate (catch a case) with these kind of people. The next weekend, I talked to two guys with nice 1/8 scale hydros just sport running. Very nice guys. Really knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging. OSE is like those two nice guys.

I have to agree with you 100% on all mentioned above , I am a member of about 5 boating forums this one by far for me I the most enjoyable with some of the coolest people on the boating forums , our local nitro namba club is much like you described , arrogant with useless advice and spewing namba rules about this and that , they are very inflexable . their arrogance came to a end one day when I ran the Sniper after their seafair cup race and pretty much destroyed there fastest lap times for the day , lots of mouths hit the ground that day . Not to sound arrogant myself just wanted to prove a point " you ain't the only game in town" our little boating club is growing all the time with a mix of electrics , a few nitro's and quite a few gas boats . we all have a mutual respect for each other and have a great time boating , shooting the $hit and just having a great day in general . even talk of creating an official club....that for me would be cool..........................

                        Peter,
Totally agree with you. While our local nitro/gas clubs are not unfriendly (except for a few buttheads), they really don't have time to be 'bothered' with our electric 'toys'. When they have let us run, you're right, their jaws dropped. BUT I do understand also that they are running a LOT of classes during their events trying to cram them all into a day or a weekend and simply don't have room for our electric classes. We have formed an electric club here now with no nitro/gas allowed as the lakes we can run on won't allow them because of the noise. We are including sailboats and scale boats. We have a good time. We're still too small to do organized meets but we're getting there pretty quickly.

This forum rocks. I Used to go on a couple of others. One is populated by people that fight and bitch and moan and insult everyone and the other is populated by clueless know it alls that are mostly WRONG in the advice they give.

It's great to have you here too?! You add a lot and I always enjoy your posts.

                        Thanks!

I don't know how usefull this info will be since I have not even scratched the surface of this hulls potential , I do believe this hull is capable of 90+ on 12S setups , I will try a ABC2616 next time out hoping for near 120KPH

My Stealth mono 48" starts to get unstable at 105 KPH and above but I think some af that could be corrected moving CG a little past the 30% mark , Same setup as above and pretty much the same speeds
