well, i have good news and bad news....good news, w/ the 600 plane motor and villain prop this thing goes faster, alot faster.....is quiter too....best part is i can spin out when i turn full left while going WOT..

bad news....i brought the boat in after a minute of running, and it was only warm, hardly warm actually....3 minutes later i brought it in and it was HOT....not hot enough for watr to sizzle on the can, but it was still hot....i let it cool for a bit (ok not really, maybe a 20 second break) and i tossed it out and ran it for another minute and then it just stopped working...not just the motor, but steering as well...i paddle out there and open the hatch....no magic blue smoke (thank god) but the motor was very hot....i dont know what happened...i think i might have fried the esc...since the receiver depends on BEC to power it and the servo, if i fried the esc, this might explain why it stopped working...does the proboat esc have thermal cutoff?

well i finaly got a vid of the SW26 wih the new motor and prop..its not long though, it stopped responding....i dont know why...maybe the plane motor is pulling more amps than the esc can handle

heres the vid anyway...you can tell its much faster (and quieter)

found the problem...turns out the plug on the esc one of the connectors was open girther than the other, letting the plugs on the batt move around too much and not coming in contact...fixed it and ran it, no problems this time....goes really fast...

I received my Shockwave from offshore a couple weeks ago now and have run it three times on a local lake. The performance is what I was looking for but I was disappointed in the poor construction of the unit. I had to reglue the spoiler right out of the box and after the first run I had to reglue the tray that the steering servo is on.

I also think one of the two batteries I got is a dud but I am trying things folks talk about to tryand correct the battery problem wich boils down to about 90 seconds of run time.

Ordering from Offshore has been a great experience though so I will continue to use them as my main supplier.

i would just get rid of the spoiler all together...i think it looks better...it gives it more of a streamlined cigarrette boat look to it....what batt are you using?

I ordered two of the Racers Edge 2000mah 6 cell packs. One runs fine for about 5 minutes. I also pickedup some 3300mah at Radio shack and they run significantly longer.

I have asked before but I will ask again, can anyone give me a recommendation for a Carbon Fiber prop. I really don't know what size to order from OSE.

              Thanks

you need to have a prop for a 1/8" non-threaded shaft....the only carbon props there are for 3/16", 4mm threaded, and 2mm threaded shafts....the stock proboat shaft is as big as i would use though....my motor gets pretty hot with it (no cooling)

well, since i set the fighter 550 back to its origional setup, waitinf for the owner to come pic it up, i decide ill stick the 600 back in the SW26, as well as the esc and batt...well, when did a quick bench test to see if its working right, smoke started to come from the end of the motor can...well, i had everything unplugged and shut off withing 0.5 seconds od seeing the smoke....i too out the motor and checked what was up....it seemed the capacitors for the + and - side were touching...well atleast it wasnt the motor that was smoking...
