really?....i thought you might have put that on...i wish the rudder had more turning range and that second motor was working...it takes forever to get on plane with the stock prop...i tried the yellow prop too and i was 1/4 the way down the lake before i got on plane...

yep, thats the sw36...been sitting there gathering dust....i cant wait for my b-day...its coming up soon (june 23) and ill be getting the batts and maybe some other stuff.....i put the SV stickers on it because there was no room for em on the SV....besides, the the SW36 will be brushless anyway..

also talked with futaba about their 2.4GHz systems....it turns out that the 2.4GHz frequncy isnt that good to use in boats....turns out they get a lot ot interference...guess ill be going back to synthesized FM....

yeah, when I pulled up the cc2 radio box and saw that I couldn't believe Megatech skimping like that....the cc2 has a 2 speed ESC, have you noticed the difference? because if you don't hear it kick into second it will never get on plane....and the 2nd motor IS junk....it will slow you down, don't use it........she would get on plane within 20-30 feet with just the one motor

i dont use the 2nd motor...yeah, i noticed the 2 speed esc...it only gets on plane in about 30 feet with the stock prop....if i use the yellow i takes forever...

lol....the YELLOW one is the "stock" prop, the black one is off a traxxis villain, and it has more blade area so thusly it will be better out of the hole, that's why I was using it, the yellow one is a high speed prop so when you get 2 motors going she'll get on plane then accelerate till she makes this weird (but cool) whirring noise.....get a nice pair of twins in there and you'll see what I mean (ie:twin speed 8.4v bb)

nah...i prefer the roar of a 700sc over the whine on twins on a gearbox:D

i was using sound to compare the power of the motors...the 540 on a gearbox is nothing compared to the 700sc....

im also thinking of a jet drive with the SW....it already has a flat bottom, so that would save me a bunch of work...i was planning to do this with my High Wind, but that ended up being tossed as the hull just wouldnt work...quicksilver has had a lot of success with his villain 700sc and 12 cells....i think i might try that setup with the sw...

I just ordered a Shockwave 26 from Steve. Any recommendations on what size carbon fiber prop to use with everything else stock. I want to run 6 cells and 7 cells with the stock motor.

that ESC doesn't like 7-cells....be careful not to run the boat too long......ie: slowing down in speed. Lube the drivetrain right away, she'll definitely be faster.

Does the ESC just need to have water cooling added or should I look into a different ESC? I thought the amps the ESC would have to handle would not change with 7 cells but I did not realize the increased voltage would cause an issue for the ESC. What would be a better ESC that is not too pricey?

I added another cooling coil to the motor so she's nice and warm. I'm sure cooling the ESC would help. I probably ran her too long with not enough rest in between. All I know is the ESC smoked with the 7-cell 4200. Oh, and the pack vented.
