First I will try the Fiago 9XL and Hydra 120 in conjunction with the two 4s packs. The Fiago 8xl (2073kv) may be a better choice.

That's not true at all....there are more than 2.

Very interesting there was a post on RRR as to a new Lithium technology and that there was a shortage of LI-PO batteries. I have viewed a few battery sites and they all show no stock. I am under the assumption that there are only a few true manufacturers of LI-PO batteries. A bit like Plasma and LCD TV displays...there are only 2 manufacturers, regardless of the brand name.

TP has another supplier that uses materials from Japan and so does SMC. There are other good manufactures. Enerland, Kokam, Saehan, Max Amps is from china and so is the Elite brand are some of them. Gold Peak is coming on as well in this market.

Enerland had a big quality problem recently and put out a bunch of junk, I heard that FP got some and they split from Enerland.

Got my G3's I have had them about a week or so and they are some good running packs. I haven't gotten them over 100 deg yet in my delta29 or the UL-1. Thanks To Detox & Raydee for confirming these are good before i bought them. How's everyone else liking them?

I have burnt up two 700 sized motors with all the amps they put out and have peeled the tires completely off my slash! They are awesome. Now what charger exists that can charge them in 10-15 minutes?

Run chargers in parallel.

We replaced a set of MaxAmp 4000 20c batteries for a set of Hyperion G3 4200's for racing our stock class SV-27. The results were excellent and the boat picked up about 4mph. It turned a "middle of the pack" boat into a contender.

Which packs did you buy for the Whip 20 and your SS45??

I just ordered 2x G3 VX5500 4s1p for my Whip 20 and DF Storm P-mono... Right now I have Flightpower EVO 30 4500 4s packs.. Hopefully I can charge these at 2C and still get lots of life out of the packs..

Brillian Packs i run the Gen 3 3s packs, my 6s rock with these packs and minimal temps too.

So what is the REAL story? Seems a lot of rumors float around to be sure. I also heard that somebody in China copied the Enerland cells and FP went with them. We'll probably never know the real truth.

I have heard different things...
Poor Enerland quality on a batch
FP did not pay their bills, which I don't doubt after the first one
FP, Hyperion, Neu and TP are all using this new China factory, less cost and higher rate cells
I supsect you will see bad batches of these new cells as well from time to time. China factories will lure you in and cut costs with a lower quality raw material and after some time admit, oh, we made a mistake on that run. We promise to never do that again. Steven V and I both have that experience.

I ended up buying Two 2s5500 35c cells for the Whip 20 for 4s1p and they are awesome.
I bought some two 6s4200mah 35c for the SS45, still haven't ran them yet.
I bought two 4s4200mah 35c for my DF33" and it flat out flies now.
I also bought some 4s5000mah 25c cells for my 1/8th scale truck.
All my FP cells were replaced with the Hyperion G3 cells this season and so far there has been a big performance increase in every model I have tried them in.
