please let me get this straight because I find it hard to believe.......you had the exact same problem I am having with not getting full voltage to the motor?
it seems if by setting the lvc to 2.8 your not going to get full run time out of the potential of the lipo pack if it shuts down at 11.2 volts or am I missing something here?SPRINT CAT 40.........BOOGIMAN 25" MONO 8xl

Thanks..
I'm thinking you should get about 50+ out of that motor when set up right.
I'm going to start with the SV motor in my MM then maybe move upto a 9XL on 4s, and would love to try a 13XL on 6s...NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment

I'm thinking not if you want much run time. Most oval racers get low-50s out of that setup in sport hydros - which have a far higher speed potential than cats do. It depends on how long you want to run, and how long you want your components to last. Mid-40s is good for that hull if you want 3 to 6 minutes of run time. I've had my MM into the low-60s - but not for any length of time and it was not very stable even on smooth water.

Sorry but I don't think this thread is about run times!Unfortunately, too many new FE boaters read comments like some of the above and think that their boat should go XX mph, and when it does not they are disappointed. Or if it does run that fast they try running it for ten minutes and along the way POOF....
The FACT is that many FE posts on the Internet are pure BS posted by people with little real experience. Maybe they built a boat, burned up several setups, then when one hangs together for two runs they tell everyone in the world it is safe. Or they parrot something they read and say it is their experience. Or they simply make it up to impress people they will never meet. Believe me, I get plenty of PMs for a great many disappointed folks verifying all the above.
I am not putting any poster in this thread in the above class (so don't go all defensive), but there are a great many lurkers who read this thread and it would be a disservice not to warn them. They may not have the experience to read betwen the lines. Remember that whatever you post on the Internet lives forever.......

Fluid all your points above are well taken and appreciated........I take everyone's points and comments with a grain of salt......I try to take in the knowledge and look at all the different setups and have realized there are many different ways to skin a cat......I had been into rc monster trucks, truggy's and buggies for a few years and have learned quite a bit about brushless rc......the main thing I have learned is FE boats are much different than FE cars....as I have said before, I am a very fast learner but my main weakness is that what ever i run, I try to make it go faster too quickly and burn stuff up but when I do burn things or break things I learn from it and move on.....I will continou to head your warnings and learn as much as I can from you
brushless55...real nice work on that motor mount...looks like you have a nice mm start there......but let me give you a little advice that was given to me from the very start of my mm build...I was told to loose all the old gasser set up i.e. radio box, fiberglass motor mount area...as you can see I didn't listen but now I have new pictures to show you what I did yesterday and last night since Fluid said loose the radio box
