    another mean machine set up

My mm should be here in a couple three days

which of my motors would you use on what amount of cells and what three props should I start with?...also would 150 amp esc be enough

    I have

    1515/2.5d/s 1650kv
    1512/2.5d/s 2050kv

and castle neu rated at 2200kv like a 1515/1y but its finned

    i'm leaning towards the 1650kv on 6s
I also need a motor mount ...please look at the pics of what I have and what mount would you go with

    this is my first rigging

    pics of MM here

Your choice is the best one...1650 x 6S. Easier on the ESC and can swing a bigger prop. Speeds will be in the 50's A good motor mount needs to have support for the rear of the motor as well. You can cut a wood wedge even but you need to make sure the motor does not bounce as it can then allow the cable to run on the stuffing tube edge.

You will be fine starting with. You will be able to move up prop size without a problem but start with the 442. I could see a M545 doing a good job but, again, it depends on your set up and running habits. Tune the boat to run wide open and handle it without control issues. Should not run wet either. My MM runs great and runs on the last 2-3" of the hull. Same hardware as you have and set up exactly the same. My CG is at 8"-8.5" from rear of transom.

I question the hi-model. Seems some have good luck and others don't. There are many offerings out there now without spending $400 for a ESC.

well I recieved my MM today.....first serious rc boat I have ever seen or handled before
first I was amazed at how light and delicate it felt when I picked it up....I can see why they scream with the right power........ all the harware is instaled except for the motor mount, esc mount or a way to strap the batteries down
also seems to have a second water pickup on the lower transom starboard side and one comming off the top of the rudder....should I use both?

          second question tonight
when I mount the motor should it be mounted in a perfect strieght line with the flex shaft? some I have seen look like the kick the back of the motor up slightley...is this the norm or should it end up being a streight line with the angle of the flex as it comes up through the hull?

Its a mass produced motor as opposed to hand built Neu, and has a finned can.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

I promised you a pic but have to wait until my kid gets home since my digicam is not focusing well.

Yes, having the motor at and angle to bring the cable in straight is preferred.

Mount your motor mount to a 3/16" ply and then epoxy that across the tunnel. I never mount my motor until I have the driveline in and then mount my motor accordingly...I spend more time lining that part up than just about anything. I spin the prop and feel for drag etc.

If I were you I would rip all the other junk out of there. Don't have to but will make a cleaner build for your FE. I will try and get a pic of mine. It was built for FE so the hull is empty.

The rest is fine. Either coupler...set screw or Octura. The set screw style is a bit harder on cables so you must solder the end...as you do with cable but it may be easier for you with cable.

                              Such doubters

Never doubt again. That is a 12XL and a cheapo 80 amp Mystery. It will be changed to my Etti ESC.

I will change the ESC and it will now run on 6S. Prop will go down to a x445 to begin with.
