    My suggestions::

    1. Neu 1527/1.5Y (850kv) (here at OSE) Aslo get the cooling jacket OSE offers,,
    2. CC HV-180 esc 12S lipos/ 50V (here at OSE)
    3. 2x 4S 5000-6000mAh 25C packs (rclipos.com)
    4 X450-x455 props ( you may already have them)
    5. Use all 5.5mm gold connectors (here at OSE)

    Total cost around $1000-1200 bucks

    Thas will give you a sport set-up, fun for all involved...
    Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

      I believe that will do it. Thanks to all of you who helped me get through this and also for putting up with my stupidity on this subject. The end product will get me there.
      I see this as money spent no differently than a person buying a good shotgun or a couple of good handguns. Hope that helps others understand my madness!!

        Handguns and shotguns gain value....R/C boats are a total loss in the end. In the F/E boat world, within 6 months everything you buy will be obsolete.

          Just by the by, but I cooked two Neu 1527/1.5Y motors in a 44" Avenger cat. 18 pounds all up weight. Turning either a 450/3 to 452/3.

          The good news is that I have two brand new in the box 1527/1.5Y motors due here this week. 8mm shaft. Neu lists them for $295. I plan to sell at least one of them, and maybe both. Looking for $245 and I'll pay shipping in the Continental US.

          If I keep one I will likely use it in something like a Sprint Cat or maybe a smaller mono than my Sniper. Neu lists them as 825 Kv so that would be around 24,000 rpm on 8S and 30,000 on 10S.
          Don't get me started

              No disrespect man. I think we all get what you are doing.

              Experience is knowledge and if you do not have it with FE then plan an extra $500for parts replacement. ESC/Cells, etc. Nothing is gtd when running big stuff. The power is so much that one little issue can take you out. One wrong prop size and poof...just be ready.

              I am glad you want to lay down the big bucks. Can't take it with you. My opinion was simply an option that would get you having more fun for less.

              Keep us updated with pics, please. I love big hulls but do not have the money to afford the guts to run one.

              You got plenty of set ups that were listed to pick from.

                Curt if you have the time, I would suggest waiting. I have been speaking to the person who designed the Little Screamers motors. These are very powerful outrunners that are Water cooled. He is making a new motor that will fit your boat just great. Plus it will be in the $200 range. Its important to have good water cooling in a boat. Remember the motor area is sealed, there needs to be a way to cool things. Normal outrunners are very hard to cool, thats part of the reason why you see very few people using them.

                          Speed - Electric - Can A Large Outrunner Be Used For This- - Went to a popular Fe racing site and finally got a recommendation on the necessaries for making a new never drilled Prather 46 dv that is a very light epoxy hull without stringers. Have had the boat for 5+ yrs I got in a trade, in its original box. I read a

                            Curt;

                            You asked for opinions and I was the first to offer one to power your hull. Numerous others chimed in as well and you seem bound and determined to follow your own path,,,,nothing wrong with that.

                            The advice you got in this thread will give you a great set -up. But you seem to have already pre-determined what you want to do, thats fine.

                            I just wanted others to see what you eventually end up with as you started this thread and others are probably curious as to what the final outcome will be.

                            I attached a copy of an PM I got from our friend Curt. It would seem that he is just another "thread bully".

                            Best of luck with your build Curt.

                            If anyone would like me to forward a copy of his PM (just in case someone thinks I made this up), let me know.

                            Do You Have A Problem With "The Saga Continuing"?

                            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                            Man you are really something! Nothing to do but pick on people that have a genuine desire to look at things from all directions.
                            Your with the saga comment is a reflection of a wayward, wondering mind that is mean in spirit and ugly in heart!

                            Who put you in charge of monitoring what I do on this subject? Who in the hell do you think you are! You can kiss my *** and stick your useless comments where the son don't shine

                            If you continue to push this on my thread I will take it to the admin. Kind of sickening that you cannot say positive things instead of ugly ****

                            A simple minded numb nut that is what you are!

                              I have to side with Curt....why would you post a PM? You should be banned for posting that.

                                When a PM contains derogatory remarks, others need to know what kind of people they could potentially be dealing with.

                                Remember Mr Hill, you have been banned several times.
