Hi
It looks like from the pics that you are now running a 700 motor (8.4 or 9.6?). I'm guessing two six cell packs for 14.4 volts. What speed control is that anyway?
There is no stock class in which one or even two 27 turn car motors could run a boat of this size. It is simply too big for that. There is a LSO (limited spec offshore) class it could run in. It would take a lot of work to make it run fast enough in that class though. I'll bet it could be made faster than what you are used to without a lot of work. I know there are some out there who have worked on this boat .Maybe one of them will comment.

if you could be a bit more specific about which class and sanctioning body(which set of rules) it be helpfull. for lso(official namba) you are limited to 1 700 series motor on 14.4-14.8v. for some of the 'local' club rules limited spec sport offshore you're still limited to 1 motor(per boat) but are allowed to use a super vee motor.Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came inComment

I have one of those hulls that I plan to power with an SV27 or BJ26 power system on 4S LiPos. Don't let anyone knowthat although they might not be as fast as some other hulls; with a little work, they can be made competitive, and they can out-turn just about anything.

With the Speed 700 motor and 12 round cells, you can run LSO (Limited Spec Offshore).
To improve the hull's speed, sharpen the ride pad edges and get rid of the "hook" at the back of the sponson.Attached FilesA nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

I am using the Fuller's Offshore Cat hardware, along with a Hughey cable. That said, the Graupner hardware you have on your hull is actually very acceptable for sport use. Spend the $100 or so new hardware would cost on new batteries. Better bang for the buck on that choice.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment

I would start with a K42 or K45 prop (K-series = 1.4 pitch ratio), then maybe try as S42 or even an S45 (S-series = 1.6 pitch ratio) if temperatures are acceptable.
Good ESCs are RC Hydros, Jeti 600, some AstroFlight models. For brushed 700 motors, just make certain your ESC can handle about 45 amps continuous (or more), and you shold be OK.
3800s and 4200s should be fine and give at least 4-minute run times.
When setting-up the hull, always run the boat for no more than 1 minute, then bring it in to check temperatures. If something is too hot, go to a smaller prop.
For this hull I used epoxy and phenolic microbaloons to sharpen the ride pads. Some guys use Squadron putty, then harden it with thin CA. Others use thick CA only. I like the epoxy/microbaloons because it is hard, durable and can make a razor-sharp edge.A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolvesComment
