However, what I did specifically mention was the power draw. If you go out 1-minute before the start of the race and start milling around, and I wait until 30-seconds, I've got a voltage level advantage on you and will have more power on the final lap than you do, all else being equal. I will also have a cooler system at the start of the race, which gives me another power advantage (motor/ESC heat equals higher Resistance equals less RPM) That's where my comment came about the advantage going to those who go out onto the course LAST.

Just clarifying... not arguing. You feel free to mill as long as you want. I'll catch up to you at the 30-second mark.

I agree that the longer we run the less power we have left in our packs
I would think that an extra lap or extra time would take our packs down another 7% to 10% or more and that means less volts at the start of the race and less and the end
volts x kv = rpms / meaning slower boat from start to finish IMO

and the one who left at the 30sec mark could have the advantage

      Interesting!

Throw some hate into these threads and it will grow like a weed. Throw some love at it and it wilts.

OH well - I think we got it covered anyway.

Doug... hopefully you haven't read any "hate" in any of my responses. Just trying to discuss the issue.

Good debate, just thought I'd share one of our starts that mike discussed earlier in thread, again some are better than others depending on the usual factors, weather, experience, hic-ups, etc. We give vocals of the next race up, people get ready promptly and put in the water, for our racers we find this the best method rather than time, the bank can be slippery and we don't want people in a rush to beat the clock and hurt themselves. Once every one is in the water the 30 second timer is started, you can mill as you like, but once on plane you can't come off. Of course not everyone will like this method, but for us it's what works. I hope you all find a method that suits your racing members and have as much fun as we do.

You guy's got it trigger. Fair, organized and a safe practice.

Not sure why my District got off course (pun intended) with the start. Bad influence maybe.

I got some re-training to do.
