I remember racing in London with the gas club guys and using their 5 minute clock...basically 4.5 minutes of standing around, cracking jokes on the drivers stand while your pit man got tired of holding a 15-20 lb open mono!

Don't care if its a 30 second clock or doing 20 minutes of "Milling" around the course..things will always get crowed in turn one.

I agree with both Darin and Terry on this one.

BS actually stands for "Boating Sense"

          Sorry Doug...couldn't resist!

            It's definitely a balance.
some just don't understand darin...and agreed with your hot pits for gas..we don't need anymore reason for them to not like us..hard enough trying to get into their races..

              Wow Todd.

I can back up all statements I made in this thread with fact. The BS in my signature is in reference to something totally different. What does the BS in your signature stand for?

Threads going down hill fast. Some good quality offerings.

doug..so what your saying is what we have stated about heat and mah and such is not true?? sure you can carry extra..but that doesn't take away for the fact the guy with your same mah not doing an extra lap isn't going to have more power..period...those are the facts..sure you might be a better driver than such driver..but facts are facts..but on that note..still sad you aren't coming to winter warmups..

Oh, my BS stands for a Bachelor of Science. Guess I did not attend the school of hard knocks or whatever. What facts Doug? You are the only one basically pushing for mill laps. The only facts that I have seen come from this thread, are ones that you claim are facts.

I would love long mills (it's a very cool part of the race!!) if there wasn't an adverse effect on voltage.

Ray - we are now kind of arguing over mute points. Yes running an electical system longer will generate more heat. In MY racing experience I have NOT experienced this to be a major factor with my set ups and have factual on water experience to prove to me that I can do 1 or 2 extra mills laps if I so desire. Guys' I have raced with can verify this.

Todd - I am glad you are College educated and are advertising your accomplishments on this forum. We are all very proud of you. Do you have anything to offer on the thread topic?

OH - I am not pushing mill laps on anyone. Where did you get this idea from? This is an open forum for discussion concering RC Boating. My objective was to clean up the current issues with starts. Thought at first initiating a longer mill may be the answer. Turns out it may be the actual clock time that does the fix. Maybe your reading skills got a little rusty.

Our 5 minute clock, when we have our collective poop together, starts running the second the retrieve boat hits shore. We can do it faster but this gives the guys that typically run our races time to verify the scores, announce who's in the next heat, who's on deck, get to the stand to call the heat, and still be able to work on their own junk when necessary. These guys want to race too. It's not perfect. We were slack'n on getting the clock going but we were down one worker bee frequently this past season. Couple that with an influx of curious on lookers and we got distracted easily.

Launching is so easy for us on our puddle. Getting into position in as little as 10 seconds isn't impossible.

Must have been all those extra mill laps you're doing. Problem solved. Welcome back to P limited Doug. Glad you've come around. LOL

Do you own a car? There have been bad batches of those too. Just wondered if you were going to never run another of those too................okay.......that may have been excessive chain yanking. 10 yard penalty!................. First down!

I love you Terry. I am still saving that kiss on your bald head that I had promised. It looks as though our racing direction may never hook us up again.

If the motor supplier would not have flat out lied to me I would still be running the 2030. This will be their loss not mine.

As for the car. If I had a choice no, I would not own one. All of them are necessary POS expenses.
