Help needed problem with hot connectors

Hi Iam very new to boating and the goal is speed.
The problem is the connectors to the motor is getting so hot that the heatshrink is comming off the connectors
Connectors is 6mm bullet type from local hobby store.
Maybe I missing something, boat is a outrigger 31.6 RC trident.
    speeddo: is SF pro 220+6s
    Motor: Tp 4050 5d 2390v
    Prop: Octura v942/3
    Bat:Zippy 4s 5000mAh 40c

unfortunataly the motor connectors shorted so the speedo died only about 4 sec old.
But is the same connectors on the battery but no problem only on the motor, the data log from the speedo say max amp was
    213amp

hope you can help as I dont understand what went wrong, maybe some bad bullet connectors, and they are 6mm

I am going to suggest a prop change. Those V9's can pull the amps as you stated(213 is quite a load on those connectors). I haven't played much with riggers in a while but it may take as little tweaking to get that prop to work reliably(strut adjustment). Also could it be possible that you had a bad solder joint on one of the connectors? This would lead to heat and the melted shrink.

is 6mm bullet on edge to that setup? should I use 8mm? is the jeti 8mm connector any good? easy to get in Denmark

I have 3mm gab between drive dog and strut

          Is your timing correct?
          Are your cables shot?
You can also solder the wires direct to the motor.

yes timming is zero and cables are shot, it is a possibility to solder direct but for ease it is nice with connectors

Before you do anything, recalibrate the throttle and give 120% full throttle position.
Check temp of your cables and be sure you have 8khz the pwm.

it was set on 8khz and I can se from the log that throttle was 102%

unfortunately I shall order a new speedo because of the short with the motor cables

Might as well order some 8mm bullets, and maybe even a little less prop, that thing has a lot of pitch. It might help if you post some pics of the setup.

As far as i know those escs run at 120% throttle travel and give 2° timing.
My favorite esc is seaking 180a.

Okay Will test that hen I get a new esc

But I just Think it Was Strange the connectors is getting so hot and only on the motor side

Maybe it some cheap ass bullet so they cannot handle the current

I Can put a screenshot off the log tomorrow When iam a the pc again

Off topic but will the Swordfish data reader only work with windows computers or are they also compatible with Apple products? Thanks!
