How bout my boat was so much slower when I tested them, I thought they were dead and maybe I forgot to charge them. So I go back home, put them on the charger, go back to the lake for a backup run....and same thing. It is what it is. If this guy is going to continue running his boat, he's got to come to terms with facts. I'm not saying this just because....it's a fact. They are weaker than venom batteries.

Not sure if you're talking to me?
I definitely think max amps are terrible....

There's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...
When I first started this R/C boat project I was using castle hydra ice 240 with Hyperion 4s x2.And ESC failed twice.Guys at castle said I need 10-12k Mah. And maxamps was the only ones I could find that size.I payed big $$ for them so I had 2 make them work.I never had a heat problem.I get the correct prop and the boat has been running perfectly.Until today. I'm just super bummed that the boat is ruined.
Hey man you may be right ...I don't know? Everybody keeps giving me their opinions and solutions. And Ive been doing my best.Every time I get on the water something else goes wrong with this damn boat .Its very frustrating when people give advice and it keeps failing. Even when it seems to be working correctly
Maybe you're just unlucky and got two bad escs... Really sucks tho...
I would be ready to part out and just start fresh with another hull at this point.
I have no input on a solution to your problem other than the obvious, which is buy a new esc.
I never trust repairs anyways.

ok. heres the deal. i'm not a fan of the castle hydra escs. The first and only one I tried went out on me. In the log, the max amps i pulled was 120. I put the original esc (fightercat 101, which has a worse reputation than just about any other esc on the market) back in and the boat is still going today...I sold it a few months back. I kept telling myself the castle esc got wet and went out, But I'm not 100% sure. I just know it died. So...maybe you got a bad one, I dunno. Originally your prop was too big, you fixed that. Good. But, I think you went backwards on your batteries. The hyperion batteries, Ive heard nothing but good about them. Max amps, I had never heard of until my buddy handed me a set to try. I didnt even want to because at $300 for a pair of batteries, I was not prepared to replace them should something happen. Well he was so sure they were the sh!t that he said if something happened to them, I wasnt responsible. Game on. so i tested them back to back against other batteries I had. I was utterly dissapointed. They even failed horribly in my sons rc car to go faster than what we had previously gone. After my battery test, my buddy has dumped his max amp belief and switched batteries. The batteries may not be your whole problem I will admit, but i think its alot of it. You may need to go down in kv on your motor or even go down a little more on prop. please read this thread...its worth it...
I'm done with this size of boat. I'm already looking at carbon fiber fighter cat in the 37"-41" range. Prob gonna sell the motor and maxamps batteries.I have 4 almost brand new hyperions that I started with that I will use in the next build Where do I find the hardware to complete one of these hulls?

I'm sure you don't want to hear this but I think you should probably stay with a good quality RTR till you get some more experience or at least find a local club so you can get some hands on help.
I just noticed something..... Were you running just two 4s packs in series to make 8s?
Best I could tell is OP bought two (2) 12,000Mah MaxAmps 4s, connected in series.
Too bad that he didn't get the more widely used batteries with less mah but could have used four 4s, each bank in series and finally with the other bank in parallel and have either 10000 mah or 13,000mah total depending the individual capacity of the battery ( I am thinking either 5000mah or 6500mah). I am aware that Castle recommendes no less than 8,000mah. In my Insane 34"Mono I use 6500mah Dinogy and the set up is 4s2p, no problem so far. Then of course, i am a 4s guy. haven't run my 12s2p 45DF Sniper in 3 years, what do I know. I have Hyperion batteries for that big boat though...
