Got the the mill table dro's installed. This is going to make things much easier, faster and more accurate to make! Dj, you still need a cooling block?

Ok. I had to work today, (had a pretty bad day too )then when I got home, took the wife out to dinner. Then when we got back I wanted to test the dro's I installed. Man! I should have put this on a long time ago! Made thing so much easier and better! Anyway...believe it or not, I'm almost done with the strut. Got a boy 4 hours work into it...but is worth it. It looks good. I forgot to take some pics of the base, I'll do that tomorrow. Here's what I have for now.....

        Starting the male dovetail...

There will be a collar or nut that locks the screw in place from moving up....so I cut a recess for it.

That's all the pic I took for now. The slide mount that goes on the transom is almost done. I decided to put a .035 stainless shim it it to make it tight and to keep wear to a minimum. Epoxy is curing. I have to run to my uncles house tomorrow to cut the slot. I'm too far to mess up now. His mill is much better than mine and i don't want to mess it up! Stay tuned...it's almost done!

Just cut the slot. If you ever cut a skinny slot like this and this deep......you know it's a pain in the ass!

I just emailed Dave at hrc. I can't make these for you guys as much as I'd want to. It takes way too long to make one in a manual mill. So....I asked Dave if he would be interested in making copies...once I test it and make sure it works properly. I'm pretty sure it will. On a positive note, it move the prop back another 1/2" so that will ever so slightly help with blow overs be a use I know that's coming soon. If your interested in one, speak up. I'm going to forward this thread to Dave if he is interested.

That works for me, Dave's shop is only about 5 or 6 miles from my house!
