I wanted to start a thread that would kind of help us all. Posting our mistakes, whether be funny or not. Something you learned a lesson on and can pass on to the next guy. You know, that one time you were a little lazy or in a hurry and said, ehh...it'll be ok for this time. You all know what I'm talking about! Lol
So here's mine I'll begin with.
When I built my rivercat I didn't put clips on all the cooling lines. I guess really just the easy ones to get to. Well none on the rudder or through transom fitting either. Well as the boat got faster, lines started popping off. First the one on the rudder. So it should have dawned on me to put them everywhere else.....nooooooo of course not. So today while I was running my hull started to fill up because the one inside the transom at the filling started leaking. Too much pressure at that speed. I could have lost my boat! Moral...I won't do that again!
