    Fellas,

I have been in RC for a while now and started off Outlaw drag racing in the parking lots, then I graduated to running with the "Professionals" on the IMDRA Circuit for model drag racing cars ( scaled down version of NHRA Hotrods with Regional and National Races for Points ), I have also raced onroad 1/10 scale road racing turning corners, and recently in the past year and 8 months have ventured into the boating world...... I must say , I thought I was getting an adrenaline rush with drag racing going 132 ft. in 1.50 secs at 94.6mph ( and to a certain extent I was ) but then I ventured out and built my 1st boat ( Shocker Twin BIG BAD Mutha shut cha mouth... LOL ) and I must say my 1st time out was 73.6mph, then 78.6mph, then 80mph, then 84.5mph, and now 88mph all in 3 weeks of testing! I LOVE THE RUSH OF MY FINGER TWITCHING WITH NERVOUSNESS when that monster comes screaming past me and the best thing about it is I built it and it was my design! ( Shout out to Travis for the Inlay, Bullet Proof!!! At least I hope....LOL). Ya'll guys got me getting hype jumping around my living room right now........ What ever you choose to do , have fun, but to me having a boat on the water with a 10ft rooster tail gliding across the water barely hanging on for dear life SCREAMIN LIKE A MUTHA SHUT CHA MOUTH is PRICELESS!!!! ........ MAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN , Make you wanna jump up and down, run down to the lake side and jump in with that BAD BOY, Make you wanna do a chest bump and high five with your boat!!!

ALL I CAN SAY IS I appreciate all of you who share your thoughts and contribute to the longevity of this hobby and to us learning to grown in the this sport........... SIMPLY PUT, I LOVE THIS ISH, BOAT ON FELLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lot Boyz Racing and Marine Team...Get Hype!
    CF Shocker Twin - 93.4mph / CF Daytona Single - 80.2mph
    FG Shocker Single - 98.3mph / Miss Geico 24" Single - 72.3mph

I hate when my hands twitch it means something very good or very bad is going to happen !

You guys call it twitching, I call it shaking. And if it ever stops I'll be finding something else to do with my time.

Oval racing or time trials, I love it!!

I still like sprints. Every once in while you nail a turn wide open an inch off the buoy and exit in lane one. I'm not talented enough to hit it every time (or every other time even) but on those occasions that I do it makes the hair on my neck stand up.

What happens to the racers on the outside when you "miss it" rather than "hit it"???? Ha Ha Ha

It's all about what you enjoy. I'm with Jay on this one. Personally I like my boats to look and run like their scale counterparts. 40 or 50 is fast enough with predictable turning characteristics and about 5 or so minutes of good run time on a set of packs.

I am... an RC boat oval heat racer.. no more no less.

I am also a huge drag racing fan..

I will also race spit balls on the windshield of a car...

Its a "contest to me" if it cannot be a contest then just doing passes bores me TO DEATH...

I fly scale Helicopters for sport so I can fly IN CONTESTS
I fly model Rockets for sport so I can fly IN CONTESTS
I run boats around buoys so I can race IN CONTESTS
I build plastic models for fun, relaxation and to kill my time in IL and so I can place them IN CONTESTS

That’s what I enjoy the most.. winning and losing and the friends I make doing it.

To me it’s a way of life as much as an addiction.

Howard.. I am with you man.. I just cannot go out and make a fast pass..

Having said all that usless stuff.. AS LONG as it makes your heart pump.. DO IT.

                      Grim

I love this thread.....I am a sport boater, as there are no local racing venues (Seattle is the closest) but all said, a true test of a driver's skill/setup is racing with other racers on oval, figure eight or similar courses. SAW is push your equipment and setup skills to the limit with not as much driver skill. To answer the original question, I do get a bit bored with members stating they obtained X speed on a manufacturers kit boat.

Some of the big SAW boats make 30,000+ watts (some much more im sure) It never gets old...ever. A member on here pulled numbers like that in a 44" boat running 120+ mph. Its kinda weird watching an rc boat accelerate and "pull," to speeds like that.

SAW boats are cool especially if you run by yourself, but if you have friends to run oval with (not enemies), idk you could run brushed motor boats and have almost as much fun plus you'll probably have a headache from laughing so much.

^^Its just a good hobby regardless of discipline, of all my hobbies this one has the most to offer with different boats, running style, and sometimes most importantly the people met along the way, some of my best friends outside of the hobby are FE people.

                                There's no such thing. Lol

Actually, I've found there really is. I have a 1/8 scale sand rail and on 4s you can never give it full throttle. You can be going 50 plus mph and you give it wot, it just flips over. That's overpowered. I ha entry found the overpowering effect in a boat.....yet. I'm working on it tho.
