ordered me a aqua craft brushless esc today, so it looks like i don't have to worry so much about the mamba over heating on me. i have a question though, the aqua craft esc..................is it water resistant or totally waterproof? i'm hoping that i can just wrap it up in a balloon and save on space in the boat.

I 've been listening the same story the last few years.
"Am I going to chase the kids, clean the house, cook, bla...bla...bla and you will play with your boats?"
It is really annoying sometimes and you cannot concentrate well and sometimes do things in rush.
What to do? The truth is that when making-adjusting-testing the boats it is time consuming and you forget everything around you.Twin Cat 135, Sprintcat40 (single-twin), DF 35", Maritimo, Mean Machine, SV 27

wow, my wife sure surprised me today. when i came home from work today, i actually didn't go straight into the workroom. kind of wanted to spend alittle time with my 15 month old son, Ryler. after we ate dinner, i just sat in the living room with my boy asleep in my arms just watching tv. she asked me how come i'm not working on the boat. i just wanted to cruise alittle and she actually encouraged me to finish it. come to find out, she enjoyed watching me drive it around the other day in the lagoon. she find's it more interesting to watch than my crawlers or on-road cars. so today i had the pass to work on it.....................
here's some pics of the progress i've made so far. finished filling the voids with stirofoam, front and rear. glued them together with gorilla glue. made a new servo mount for the hitec steering servo. just have to wait for the aqua craft brushless esc to come in, along with the water cooled motor jacket and esc water jacket. instead of running the 3s lipos i had, i'm going to run my maxx amp's 8000Mah 2s lipos instead. i'm wondering if anyone had any problems with running lipos on the aqua craft brushless esc. i checked the specs and there's nothing about running lipos on them. do you think i have to run a lipo cutoff, and if so do i need 2 of them. i've run the novak 2s lipo cutoffs in my road cars, but i've never had to put them on an esc that has 2 battery connections. any help on this would help clarify my thinking. anyways, thanks for all the advice and the "wife talk", here's some pics>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes man,
place a lipo cutoff in there some how, the Aquacraft ESC does not offer any.
I noticed your lipos are wrapped.... keep your temps in chk, you don't wanna over heat them because of the plastic around it. Are you running the cells in series?
I also would leave some room to move the batteries around for fine tuning the CG (just a thought).
good job "bra":::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

i usually wrap my lipos when i want to play near or in water. but i've noticed that some people don't wrap theirs. do i need to wrap them or can they still survive if they get wet or accidentally submerged without the wrappings. i use saran wrap to protect them from water, works fine with my scale crawlers (we usually submerge the whole truck in water sometimes).
the area for the batteries can be moved around by taking out some of the stirofoam. i meant to leave more space so i can add or take out small pieces of foam to move around the batteries..............got alittle excited while i was gluing them together and went too far and glued the wrong ones.
thanks alot for the comps guys, i'm hoping that my esc will come in before this weekend so i can test it out.Hawaii R/C Crawlerz, Team Zig~Zag, Cargo Pants Mafia, Remote Control Motorsports Hawaii, Aloha Hobbies, Sandy Flemming's Fast ElectricsComment

I also did a Mv convertion! I played with many setups and esc's! From cheaper to expensive! I settled on a hydra 120 with 2 (2s) lipos! I just ran her today and Gps at 46.2mph with a few adjustments! I noticed the batts (maxamps) take a beating so be careful! The CG is a little off towards the front when you put the batts on the sides of where the battery box is! I kept the box in there! Its ok but one side is a little tight! I just place batteries carefully! I also tried EVOLITEs flightpower and they seem to do better! temps stay around 125 to 130! I ran her with 6s and stock plastic prop before and it gps at 63.6mph! but the battery gets hot after about 2 to 3 minutes!
I ll post some pics of mine~
you can see some runs on you tube! just do a search under Genettico!
