My preffered site right now is http://www.rclipos.com/. I would recommend one of the Hyperion chargers and the Elite LiPo packs. Run 2 of the EL2S-4800 in series. These packs should last at least twice as long as any NiMh pack when properly cared for. You also would want to purchase a low voltage cut-off as the SV27 does not have one.

Susation 288....Not just price difference, but also the complexity between them varies a lot.Men R/Cs are much more complicated and not to mention all the parts available for them and they are all very modifiable as well! Check for the SV 27 if you want everything out of the box then go for the mods if you want. I have both SV 27 and BJ 26 EP. I am yet to finish setting my BJ 26 correctly as for my SV 27 ,I can run it anytime and Aquacraft sells plenty of parts for it and almost every hobby shop carries the boat along with the parts.

I would really really like to recommend this LiPo charger... I have been flying RC for 9 years and have many LiPo's for flying.
This charger is so far the most plug n' play foolproof I've seen and it's great value for money.

It'll automaticaly peak detect and balance your pack and has a very nice feature, showing your packs capacity in %.
Plug the pack to the charger and it shows how many % is left in the pack and also shows the charging process in both Mah's and %.
Very easy to use and very good feedback on the packs status

The charger can take up to 4s LiPo and also the new A123 LiFe batteries. If you look around on model helicopter or model airplane electric forums, you'll see that this charger is widely used and appreaciated.

Browse down on this page to choose the correct adapter to go between the LiPo's balance plug and the charger:

one small quibble about that charger, if you are running large capacity packs...its going to take quite a while to charge them at only 4amps.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

That's right, that might be the 'only' drawback.. It's good for a 4000mah pack @ 1c anyways.

At this point in time you shouldn't even consider anything else but some lipo batteries. I use Elite 4800's with a Hyperion charger and am quite satisfied. Others on this site will give you their preferences also. I think you would be happy with the SV and when you get it there is a whole bunch of advice here to get it going right.

You would need the 4s one for the SV27. What batteries do you plan on purchasing?

Sunsation just so you know that charger is a dc only charger so you will need a power supply. Hyperion makes an ac/dc charger that works well especially on 2s packs. The model is 606i ac/dc.
If you are going to do this you might as well forget the Nimh batteries and get enough Lipos to do the job. That way you can work on the boat setup and it will be consistent from run to run.

what i think is to buy a NiMh kit for my son ? just to cut the $$ , but if you think is better to stay with lipo , i will send what i have found tonigh , and for the charger 10i stand for more curent draw than the 06i ? , if the 06i will do the job for me ?
                                thanks to have take time
