I'm asking him to look into very well made motors that are well made. and the cost is worth looking into. I also have other large motors that are very nice that skyrc makes. I like them and they make a lot of power also. The beast motor that I run in my 1/5 losi 5ive is a 910kv 2y motor that is incredible. And is also a good motor to look at. I just don't think it is make as well. yes these are my opinions as are all that read here. O own the motors and run them in conditions that are more harsh then running in a boat. So stick that in your bench top and smoke it!
P.S. If your going to bash me don't you think you should try it first? Or you working with something that I'm not aware of? Common sence maybe? Or spec. from the motors maybe? Got anything to back up what your saying, is what I'm asking, Keith?
I have another boat that runs over 60 mph that is 42" long and runs the SSS motors and there small motors 3670 2050kv with 45mm props and get better than 15 min. of run time. You have such a boat. How much money do you have into it? I bet I have half in to mine. Yes I bought it new.
No one is bashing you, just not sure why you're telling someone "this is the way to go" when you haven't ran the motors yourself in a boat? I also have two SkyRc motors in a 60'' mono and built and run several fast boats, but none of that qualifies me to to tell the OP that "this is the way to go" because I have never built and tested a twin powered Super Dayton! By all means, make suggestions but to offer solid advice requires actual knowledge of the subject. BTW I in fact do have a boat that is "budget built" that runs well over 80mph with TP motors.

Keith I have need of the warrenty that you speak of as I have no problems with them. even with the heat that was putting the motor under. Your asking me to send in for a warrenty on some thing that is in no need of one. I do know that HOR takes care of customers needs. Or have you worked with HOR Racing?

I'm experienced with the motor in a much harsher application and I'm very impressed. That is why. The price is another. You need to look at the specs. And then test those specs. I HAVE! The boat will get done and I'm hope full for great speeds and under 250.00 shipped for both motors that make better than 10 hp from each. So now that I put the light on these motors I dare anyone to prove other wise. And the shipping of the motor take 5-7 days to get to your door. So now what? Try them maybe? Hopefully you do.

I'm not sure why you keep addressing me.
I can't comprehend your posts well enough to respond, sorry.

If you have a reasonable question for me that applies to this thread I will be happy to answer. Otherwise, I'm not interested in comparing my boats or experience level with yours.
          Thanks.

Keith with your experience of boats I dought that very much! Your reply is noted!
I take it you have not tried the motors or with horracing. So why ask about the motor or the warrenty if you have no experience with eather?
            Simple enough?

P.S. If you want to paint by numbers post the specs of your motors that are in question and then go from that. Or is there some thing you don't get with that?

As for the smaller cat I would look at a SSS4070 2200kv motor. I just got the leopard 4070 2200kv motors for my zonda because of the cost savings that I got from the seller, and also because I haven't tried the leopard brand yet. I have no need of a SAW catamaran and so that is one reason for motors that fit. Another reason is I bought the boat built and would need to build a boat for monster motors that this builder is willing to use.

I have an idea! I want to make a 60 inch cat go over 100 miles an hour at the NAMBA event at Legg Lake in November! It will be entered in t-cat which is 10s 12000 mah restricted per motor. Other then spending up wards of 1200 or more for motors is there anything else I can put on the ragged edges rpm and power range that can do what I want preferably without grenading! And if they survive would be a good solid motor to run this big thing in the 75 to low 80s ice cold?

Don't buy the horracing motors. I owned the super daytona for awhile ran it and to be honest was freakin amazed at how stable this boat was at 85mph. I ran low kv leopard 730s on 12s, she ran on all day and is really a beauty.

To the OP I just found out tp power sells in USA, www.tppowerusa.com has the tp5850 for 185 dollars an absurd deal if you ask me. Other than can size and kv numbers mean little to me you really need to test these things out some are quite different than others despite how misleading a weight comparison may be.

--Without a question this boat will make it to 100mph with tp5850s. Have I used them? no. This video should inspire anyone to give them a try I know I will when I'm prepared to crash at 120.

HOR Racing has the SSS5694 800kv motor for 100.00 as well. You would need to run more costly and heavy batteries. And a lower kv has is pluses.
Very impressive video!!!! now if he was to take the sticker off that motor and put it next to the HOR sss4070 2200 kv motor they would look almost the same. specs would be different though. This shows a 1800kv motor on 8s and is fast fast fast!

I'm interested in these numbers as I'm running one in a mono now. Can you tell me what the peak wattage was when you were getting 10 horsepower? Strong motors!? I have the 1200kv ones.

Where is this thread going. Twisted everywhere u post something that thread goes way off topic. At keith agreed anyone who buys a lehner thinking they have a warranty is crazy. They are awesome motors and all I buy but if something goes wrong with it I consider it a loss. I

No, not as of yet. All I can compare it to is the Skyrc beast motor that I have running on a 200 amp esc that will Throw peek amps up to 1000amps.

Cooper you have this motor and your asking the wattage that it take to make 10 hp. I'm suprized that you have nothing to say as to how yours runs.
