You probably killed your batteries. 3.1 volts per cell is fatal. You also say that they are smoking. Just because they reach full voltage on a charge does not mean anything. I've had small batteries that reach full voltage, yet fail to even power LED's.Comment

Packs don't really heat up much until you go below a certain voltage. When the batteries are out of the boat at home and read some 3.1v, underload forget it they were like 2.6v. When you put a pack on the charger at home you should really get like 3.7 volts. Did the packs puff?Comment

I had the identical problem. You are running the batteries to low. Don't go below 3.8v per cell. I run my 5000mah 35c 2s lipos for 5ish min and then stop. They stay a bit warm but not hot. If they did puff a tiny bit then they will start doing it progressively worse. I ruined 1 battery from running it to low in my blackjack. It almost went up in flames today it puffed so bad it was easily twice it's size, I had never seen anything like it.Comment
