Thanks,
Honestly I don't know exactly what motor I have. I believe it's a nemesis, with the conversation it's a 4.8 hp. The motor is large with a black can if that explains anything?esc is 180 amp hobbywing seaking. Both are from Cris. My octura props came from him too. I don't know the horror stories but he's given me excellent service. He's spent much of his time explaining rc boating to me before I even bought anything from him. And once I did get parts from him and since I'm a noob the guy even gave me his cell number incase I needed support when I'm out on the water.
About cornering with cats, MG is all I know so I have nothing to compare to but I think she turns great IMO. Besides the crack I put on her that I working in fixing ATM. So what my issue is with her, is when I get up to highspeed I'm having issues keeping her in the water. My batts are forward and I have the strut slightly adjusted down so that it will keep the nose down. The only thing I can think of is to adjust the strut more to push the nose down further. Or the other factor is maybe I still need to work on my driving skills. Bottom line she flips so quick on me I still haven't been able to get her up to full speed. The few times I've gotten the trigger all the way with this set up, before she's done accelerating, she takes flight as I call it. And unfortunately she lands upside down. So needless to say I've become a professional swimmer in freezing cold water. I grew up in Florida and now live in Massachusetts so to me it feels like I'm swimming in a cup of ice water. Haha
I got home late from work yesterday so I didn't get to check all the above mentioned hulls but I did check out some sprint cats. I even found a hull for 150 that supposedly retails for over 300. I believe it's 36". A guy bought it to build and never touched it. So he says he's had it about 3 years but it's still new in box. Before I make a decision I want to have a better understanding of the pros and cons of the different hulls. I've watched many you tube vids and I see guys running cats practically full throttle at high speeds and even with choppy water they seem to not let off the throttle at all without flipping or any other issues. So I still don't get if that is due to hull design, proper setup, or good driving skill or a mix of all these thingsComment

Anything you buy here at ose is gonna come with great service as well.
I've noticed fd prices are rather high,
Also check out Kintec. He has some nice hulls there, some painted and even some ready to go.
As far as handling, it's about hull choice, setup, motor, esc... The whole nine, but if you go with say a sprintcat, or mean machine or avenger, you will see those performances. As rummie stated, a sprintcat handles unreal, and will handle 60-70 mph turns.
So many choices....
Can you measure your motor can size please?Comment

Cris did warn me and has been helping me tune it over the phone. When I originally ordered the motor and esc from him my plan was to run it on 4s till I got used to it then run it with bigger batteries but I got ahead of myself and put the 3s's in from the jump. He thinks I should move my batts further up and tune strut more after I repair my MG so I can learn to drive a bit better then to upgrade my boat.
But yes I will measure and get the specs for my motor.Comment

Not to bash Chris, but I would think that he should have warned you about putting such a large motor in an mg. the hull won't last.

It's been a great thread. Thanks to some of you Iv'e got some new ideas to get my speed up on my P-Limiteds. Currently working on strengthening my trigger hand - thanks Propper. I am going to try the timing at 11 this weekend - thanks Shaugnessy. Although I had already tried 10.5 and 12 so I don't have high hopes for this. The Flux capacitor thing sounded dirty. Not sure what this is - thanks/no thanks Doby. Had another idea PM'd to me. My 2005 Ford Taurus won't go past 65 mph so I had to rule this one out.
Carry on!Comment

I still feel like you can do better price wise over here, and there are plenty of knowledgable people here that can get you where you want to be for half the price, but def watching your progress and we're here to guide you in the right direction.Comment
