Since you said u were into gas, lets assume you want a gas sized hull? 42-50" hull? fast 60+mph? For something in this size and speed is not going to be cheap, you probably allready have Rx/Tx gear. You will need everything else, that includes hull, hardware, motor, speedo, batts, charger, servo (don't skimp here on a big boat). Dont forget all the other little stuff, brass tubing, flexshaft, collett, drivedog, Fuel tubing, 6mm connectors or bigger for everything and don't forget PROPS!!! from the chepie cheap to the high end you are gonna spend anywhere bet 1500 and 2500, for a BIG FAST boat with all the stuff needed. but be mnore specific in you're request and we here can be much more helpful.
if you want a pro boat your'e best bet is a impulse 31 ez to work on and has no issues or you can go with a traxxas spartan rtr but i dont know one person who has one with out any issues

I saw the new proboat go this weekend and it looked good, it was pretty fast but the person running it had no idea on setup so it was very flighty. Eddie give us an idea of how much you have to spend? even the proboat which is a nice boat at $350-$400, you still will have to spend another couple of hundred on batteries and a decent charger.
What is your experience level with RC Boats? What is your preference in hull types? What kind of water conditions will you be running this in? How much is your budget? What size? How fast do you want to go? Depending on your budget, you may have to make compromises. Please give us a little more info. so that we can offer some guidance. There are some really good/knowledgeable people on this forum who are more than willing to assist you. So as Doby said, "Take a deep breath" and let's see how we can help.

Very Good! Maybe add an experience level section?
Not to be a nit-picking gummy bear...isn't the correct spelling for "by" is "buy"?
We don't want to advise a hot setup to a total newb.
