Best cheap spray can paint ??

Ok, I'm having a blast with my OM29 PSpec racer, but the paint has to go!
so I'm wanting to do a decent paint job for it, lay down dome decals then clear over it
what are the good choices for cheap priced spray paint that works great for our FE boatthem

Everytime I have tried to use cheap paints it has bitten me in the butt ans cost me more in the long run

I have had good luck with rattle cans, maybe partly due to the fact that I have done so many that Im pretty good at it now. I use Rustoleum enamel.

I agree with Jim cheap and paint don't mix.

I like to use dupli color spray can at the automotive store and their high full primer.
Hadd good success with it no real issues as of yet.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the auto spray!

Maybe I should have said "spray paint under $10 a can"

I think the dupli is only like $6 a can.
Can get it at most auto parts stores.
The really nice thing about them is the spray tips they haw a fan spray and can be tilted so you can spray up or down or sideways without having to turn the can sideways or upside down....

Nice even spray the entire time.
I used it with no clear coat and wet sanded and buffed and it comes out great!

Another way you could do it is buy a rustoleaum can from home depot and use a foam roller to put the paint on your boat.
            Use the oil based version.
Then wet sand smooth when done and buff it will look just as good.

These are all done with rattle can $5 Rustoleum. The first three are after the final color coat, you get an idea of the kind of smooth finish you can put on them after you have done it a while. The Villain is done and cleared.............all Rustoleum.

Rustoleaum is good paint I have bad a few issues with it and humidity out here in NW I think the reason being the tips I seam to spray to much at times at least with home depots cans. Large tip sprays a lot of paint. Otherwise great paint.

I paint metal letters for work with it and does have a nice finish.

I use Rustoleaum and for a clear coat, I use this stuff. a bit more bucks but man it is worth it. (also great for the Nitro boats I run as well.)

Rustoleum is great for clear coat, needs a few days to cure really well.

I have used Tamiya TS spray cans and the paint is beautiful but, expensive!!

So, I tried Molotow Premium Spray paint that is used specifically for grafitti.

You can spray it in any weather almost and it doesn'r run, at all. You would need to hold the can in one spot for 2 or 3 seconds to develop an actual run. It doesn't care about temperature and humidity either! I've sprayed in the winter and had it stick very well.

The only drawback to it is that it doesn't lay down flat most times (orange peel kinda). I never found this a problem since I sanded between coats and it lays down thick with the proper spray nozzle. Light grey with blue dot works best for large surfaces.

It's approx. $7 a can. I really like it after my first try.

The clear coat has a nice wide spray nozzle that you can use in any position, a great thing to have!!

This stuff is a little on the expensive side but works very well. It's a combo acrylic/clear. I had a little run-in with another boat and had to repair it, the lime green they have matched perfect with the gel coat green.

I see it's the same thing carlcisneros posted earlier at a cheaper price..
