          Joe-Thanks for continuing to work with us!

          It appears to me that there's been a resurgeance of setup information to specifically address FE's ability to damage equipment. We'll do better.

          Question: What are your thoughts about ESC's being rated by max watts vs. voltage and amps?

            Joe,

            Thank you for supporting us... That's really good news. Let's hope we don't have to take advantage of it!

              We could do that, but in the end I think it would be confusing for customers...every other manufacturer rates their controllers in amps. Not sure if the hobby shop guys know Ohm's Law. That's the other hurdle...informing the public and the hobby shop owners so the customer get the information they need without getting saucer eyed.

              For those of you who don't know Ohm's Law

              W=A x V...Watts = Amps x Volts

                Hey Joe,

                Glad to see you on the forum, I just want to say thanks for your great customer service with me in the past, and keep up the good work and awesome products. Hope you come out with 30 amp boat escs for the small boats.

                    Ace...I'll pass the recommendation along. Maybe we can convert some of our 1/18th scale car controllers. http://www.rcbros.com/reviews/cc/Mreview.wmv

                      Thats a cool test video. Maybe make the controllers compatible with 6 and 12 pole outrunners. I run castle in all my stuff, and would like to keep it that way, I like being able to hook them all up to my computer with one cable.

                        With the new software (v1.17) for the car stuff, they'll run pretty much anything now.

                          Joe, this is the problem as you have stated, many online stores ( not OSE) and hobby stores sell a product with no knowledge of how the product will be used and abused. That is why some folks just have to have a basic knowledge of physics and other criteria when they build their own boat or modify A RTR. If you do not have that capability and blow up equipment and yes I am guilty of that. Please do not cry me a river and say well the manufacturer stated it was OK up to a specified cell count or whatever, if you experiment with setups...motor,ESC, drive train, cell counts, you may have success or disaster and you need to record the data for future reference.

                            idle thought; what about have the option of having engine idle sounds. the truck guys would prolly like a v-8...boaters hmmm packard-merlin or turbine, course once you pull the trigger have the sound go away :)
                            Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in

                              re :

                              I must admit that I'm one of the people that Castle has gone way past the normal limits of support for. I intend to be loyal to the end because of that. Tom has been so totally helpful when I've whined about turnaround time & such, and has come through for me many times, covering my stupid mistakes over and over. I've since learned much more about setups & am now a lot kinder to my stuff, even when racing.I now have three boats with Hydra 240's /& BEC's, a seemingly bulletproof CC80, and even run a CC BEC in my TS-2 for more oomph to the servo.
                              It's great to see Mr. Ford joining in the forumn where we all can work together to advance this synergistic relationship for all our benefit !
