I'm pretty sure that motor could handle a X642 for sure as the 2364kv version of the motor did with slight heat. If you 5s with an X642, bob's your uncle= 60MPH
Will check out the thread.
At over a 10% failure rate I would say they are not a good motor. ESPECIALLY if you buy one from China, where the returns are quite difficult. The good news is that they fail immediately. So if yours runs well, it will continue that way. This is not just my OPINION, a few dealers in the USA have stopped stocking them. This was also the case with the older style KD/Keda 45mm diameter motors. Quality control at Keda/KD is terrible at best. In comparison, we've sold tons of Leopard motors and only a few have gone bad. Those mostly from people running improper setups.

This is a shame because when they do work they are amazing.
Just would like to find most suitable prop as I'd appreciate my boat being capable of at least 60mph (100kmh here ) , also will be raced with Model Boat Club of New South Wales ( MBCOFNSW.COM ) in Sydney , so it would be nice if my boat was in the same realm as those that race frequently ....

Have you tried to contact Andy M. He lives in Broke Back Hill as well.
I bought a Keda 4074-1400KV and it smelled funny the first time out and didn't run near as fast as a 4074-1400KV Leapard on the same tunnel. On 6-S a m445 worked well. Live and learn got a cheap motor and it's a paperweight now.

I have looked it up, it's a nice little town a million miles from anywhere.
Yep I bought it about 6 weeks ago. For the price I figured it might be a crap shoot. It didn't totally destruct but came in warm and smelled a little burned so I shelved it. I had a consrvative prop and 11 degrees timming (T180)and ran maybe 1 minute before I decided to cut any further loss.
