My Keda, I ran for 3 mins and when I brought it in I noticed the connector had folded away from the wire Silver soldered all connections, as I was running what I considered to be a high amp set up, and didn't have a problem after that.

When I stated making combos using those motors the first thing I did was replace the connectors. I still had failures.

I really don't understand how good and bad motors can come from the same place. The machine must glitch once every 10 minutes

            Hi Guy's ,

What would be important to find out is how many of these 4 Pole Keda BL Motors have been sold since there worldwide release & how many have been faulty , then work out percentage of faulty units ???

Hopefully the 1340kv that I own is not faulty , as I have spruced it up a bit !!! - by painting black with JPS livery . The bullet connectors that were on my unit have been replaced by 6mm connectors , that I have used throughout my builds. .....

Apparently you have no experience with manufacturing anything en-mass. A great many things can go wrong during the motor assembly process itself...not taking into account problems with parts for other vendors used to make the motors. Cheap wires, bad magnets, bad bearings, a tired setup employee - all can result in a bad motor. Without getting into much detail, a company needs to have a serious QA/QC department to limit the number of bad products that get out the door. This latter concept seems foreign to so many Asian manufacturers selling to the Western market....

Yeah ok, the above was a joke hence the at the end of my sentence, sorry if I made myself sound stupid, now I read it again I didn't word it right. I believe everyone would feel better about buying a product if it was tested before being sent out. But the factory would need to pay someone to check them and that would cost extra = loss for the company in the first place. It would also mean that they could guarantee good motors are being sent out and keep selling them to suppliers = more sale and profit. Surely quality control is essential when your against so many other competitors. Hopefully KEDA/ Saker pick upi the slack. I have just read on their website that they warrant their motors for "2 years against any defects in materials or workmanship" Interesting eh?

I used to work for an Italian owned company that would knowingly send out bad parts just to meet delivery quotas and that was here in the USA. I quit working for them because they had very poor ethics.

Interesting? Kinda like the HobbyKing warranty, isn't it? Meaningless unless it actually works, and plenty of HK buyers know how "well" that guaranty works.....

"Pay someone to check them", now there's an idea! But since it costs money, they won't do it. Sadly, Asian (and other) companies will target the low price point regardless of quality, and buyers become hooked on the low price. Some even go so far as to say silly things like "I don't care of a few items don't work, the cost is so low." Now they have to pay twice for the same item. And I guess their own time and effort has no value to them. Mine does. I don't want to wait another three weeks to run my boat because a $20 part doesn't work and I had to send it back to China for replacement, or had to buy a more expensive part which actually works.

                          Hi Guy's ,

As I mentioned on my build thread lately , the 40-74-1340kv Keda that i bought from Steve ( OSE.COM ) was recently wired up to my current Tunnel project & ran without fault , for a few seconds anyway . The Keda BL Motor will be further tested when it arrives in North East of England to take part in an exhibition on Bob Spaldings race career ( 1980 F1 World Champion ) , ran by www.fastonwater.co.uk then to be ran on the waters of Oulton Broad where Bob Spalding raced at times with www.lobbc.org ....

So it will be interesting to see how it runs after a bit of travel , in England .....

                            Hi,
I just got one of these motor in a mystic and checked the esc programing and it was set at 0.
So I am not sure what the timing should be,
The motor I have is a keda 4074 2364kv and I will be running it on 4s.

                            Thanks for any info.

Lenny, it's a 'D' wind and needs lower timing than 10*.
