    HOTR Twin ESC problems.

Hi, I have a HOTR twin with leopard 4074's in it with swordfish 120 esc's on 4s each. I get no response for my motors. the steering works just fine. Sine both motors dont work i thought maybe it could be the receiver, replaced that and still nothing from either motors. I'm pretty much lost now and would really appreciate any help if anyone can. Thank you very much , Andrew.

I know it sounds stupid but do you have a throttle cut switch on?
if you are running a y-connector you have to disable one of the BEC's, but I don't know if that would give the symptoms you are having.

Has it ever worked? Did you calibrate throttle for both escs?

You've troubleshooted the receiver and the motors. It has to be the esc's. Swordfish esc's need to be recalibrated sometimes. Here is a link to the Swordfish 120esc manual - http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/pdfs/Swordfish%20120A%20ESC.pdf

                Hi

esc's dont chirp/beep .. the motors do that when the coils are energized..
umm, plug the motors back in ?

                or
grab a Rx batt pack ...
try the steering from Throttle Rx port...Rx fail ??

I ran twin SF120 in maritimo.. had both bec to Rx.. they are switchmode and dont fight.
No beeps from either suggests Rx fail or Y lead fail.

You can troubleshoot the receiver. Plug the esc's into the steering channel. Turning the steering on the radio and it will provide throttle. If that works, then the esc's are fine and the esc channel on the receiver is bad. Have you hooked the esc's up to another boat? Would be odd for both working esc's to be bad if they have worked before.

I put a brand new rx in it, to double check it i hooked up the rx to my slash 4x4 and everything worked perfectly so know the rx is good, I will check the Y harness, didnt really thing there would be a problem with that but i will see.... Hey guys thanks for all your help with this I really appreciate it!

I unplugged the Y harness and plugged each esc individually into the rx and neither one worked. could it be that both esc's fried at the same time??

actually, maybe the BEC overloaded ? not sure if thats possible, but could it? i mean it could have put 12V through the receiver and fried it?

                          unlikely both fried.

and yet you have steering .... Y/N ?

Do you use bec from either/both esc? .. or a battery pack ....1/2/B ?

Have you tried hooking up another motor to one of the esc's? Do you have a Swordfish programmer?
