As I mentioned, my over the phone orders went well too. Also, I had them investigate having a special flex drive made by a guy they now, and they got back to me on it, even though the guy couldn't do it. Don't take me wrong, I am not saying that people aren't having bad experiences with them, just telling you my experience with them for the past year.

If Chris could get his $hit together he really would be a serious asset to the hobby .

You may be right there Make-a-Wake, I think he spread thin. I think something he told me once lead me to believe he was spread thin. So for for me his info has been helpful.

Spreading thin is still no excuse for some of the things he has done.

I can speak for post #13 that Peter posted, I run with both of them. Even if he is spread thin he should have had the decency to contact our friend letting him know the H&M hull has a missing hatch before sending it. No note was attached in the box that Chris was going replace it or even that it was missing. Like Peter said it took a year to finally have Chris mail him one out, but that was only after a number of calls and emails and even contacting H&M. I believe Chris Fine is on this forum and if he reads this thread should at least respond to all the negative things if they are not true. Just my 2C.

I have bought a lot of stuff from F.D. and this thread has confused me.
It started off as comments about a visit and turned into a Big flame thread about bad service. In the past year I have spent over 2000.00 in parts from FD and I have not had any problems. I have always called in my orders and made sure his stuff was in stock first. He has even given me tracking numbers. Could the problem be with out of stock internet orders from over-seas. The Hulls I have ordered come in 3 days from Fed X and parts are about 5 days. Please Don’t start posting What an A- - I am for having an opinion. I am just trying to figure out what is up. When I talk to Chris he is always helpful and seems to enjoy the hobby to the point where he will stay on the phone to talk about setup designs on future hulls even if I didn’t get the parts from him. His personality doesn’t seem like someone who would purposely screw you over. He has even helped get my castle ESC repaired when it blew. He is busy and maybe he was over whelmed with trying to run a business with 2 people IDK. It is just hard to understand the difference in service between people.

I have ordered countless times from Chris even recently and I have always got my product from him.
I always order from him over the phone, usually because I have a question that needs answered, but I have never ordered off his website.

OSE gets most of my boating money, I have met Steven and his boys, great guys! great service!

We have seen Chris post here (just a week or so ago) Maybe he does not want to say anything but a person should with all the cuts and insults his business has taken on numerous boards over the last few years....and they all come back to not getting their products or getting burned. Screw me once...your fault, screw twice it is my fault!!

30 years of experience means something

Hi, Chris Fine here--- taking a couple minutes from my personal hobby time to try to address some of the concerns of the previous posts to this thread. First, I have a hobby I love TREMENDOUSLY! and I just don't spend the time perusing all the various R/C forums. Secondly--- to all those here who stood up for me-- Thank You.
If you want to get hold of me, it's as easy as picking up the phone or sending me an email. I spend a tremendous amount of time designing and building boats and mechanisms for this hobby. Because I am a small custom shop, it is not always possible to answer right away. I do my best to get back to everyone in a timely fashion. As some of you know, my time is yours and I will spend as much of that as you need to make sure you are satisfied and informed. I believe someone pointed out that this was a forum that should be dedicated to discussing the hobby, not spending time negatively commenting on certain people. I will say this.. I have gone to bat for every single customer who has purchased and had a Castle product fail to perform. I continue to be a thorn in their side to make it better for all of us. Also, after more than 30 years in the hobby business and more than a handful of national speed records, my experience speaks for itself. I will continue to improve my custom products so that everyone can enjoy the hobbby as much as I do. In regards to anyone who has personally purchased from me and not gotten the product, I'd like to hear from you directly; and for you fellas who have the time to spread negative rumors and comments, it is not appreciated nor is it constructive for this hobby. If I have personally wronged you, then I look forward to your email as to what I have done to you. If you are just commenting on someone else's comments, please remember I really couldn't have gotten this far in 30 years if all that has been said is true. I'm not a Jekyll and Hyde and the fact that I actually pick up the phone and speak to you the customer, well lets just say, if there is a problem I'll know about it first and do my best. Well, back to hobbyin', thanks for giving me the floor. PS--- when was the last time you could get the owner of some of the large warehouse hobby companies (i.e. China) on the phone with no time limits or restriction of conversations. In closing, I would again like to thank Steve and all my customers for their support and their business. Regards, Chris Fine

I remember when you gave from your pocket during the Hacker Debacle. Hacker screwed Chris over for I dunno how much $$$ but, he honored THIER warranty for me. I still have that Hacker 70 opto too.

Thanks for the crazy motor Chris. My Inferno GT2 is going to airbourne in the spring.

It was nice talking to you too, been a long time!

So now that we have your attention Chris any comments on all these claims , there is a fellow on this thread Kenneth Ablack that is saying you owe him either a 2230 and jacket or his money back + lots of others....any comments . If that was me I would be beyond pissed....out $800 + clams .

On a personal note I did help my friend Vlad out urging him to keep hounding you for his hatch cover on his no step 4 and finally after a year it came . Why would you even send a boat with a broken hatch cover in the first place......??

If you truly are sincere about honouring these claims it certainly would be a step in the right direction .
