    Ok I have some questions...
I want to run with gas guys using a Falcon 41 Cat
    I would like to run a Leopard 5692 (1000kv?) on 10s
goal is to run mid 70's for 8 laps

    any input would be great!
    thank you

10s seems a bit high.............can you get by on 8s?

Also, as im sure you are aware.........2p is a must to get any grunt out of that motor to hit your speed goal.

4 of these would be 10,000 mah and 300 cont. amps.

If you want to run with the gas guys at 70 mph you'll have to run 10S. 8S will not cut it, amp draw will be too high. I do not understand the aversion some folks seem to have over the use of high voltage; it is a far better method to go fast longer with the big hulls. Amp draw is 20% lower for the same output power, meaning longer run times with the came pack capacity and lower temperatures. Our club runs regularly with the gas guys, all running 10S in cats and monos. Nothing is stressed with these setups and they are fast.

The Falcon is a light weight boat with plenty of lift, it should be a good race boat on 10S although some hulls are a bit weaky built. While most of us run motors with 750-800 Kv, if built light the Falcon may work okay with the 1000 Kv motor. Just keep prop diameter down, probably not over 57mm. With rpm in the 33,000 range you won't need a big prop with lots of pitch to go 70 mph.

You do not really need to run 2P if you can find some of the G-3 6500 mAh cells. We normally use between 4500 and 5200 mAh in a one mile heat with mill lap, easily withing the range of good 6500 mAh cells. If you go 2P you can use 3300 mAh or 4000 mAh cells to save weight and $$$. With today's high "C" rated cells you don't need 10,000 mAh capacity unless you just want to run extra laps.

I personally have no aversion to it...........i have run 9s and 10s setups myself......not with 1000kv motors though, in the 800kv range that most of your club guys run as you noted.

I'm helping a friend set one up, and we are open to most anything
we would like to run 10s2p to help get the most out of the motor
I would prefer 800-850kv but I don't see a Leopard with this rating?
So with the 1000kv version we could use a smaller prop, and maybe this could be a good thing as it may not pull as many amps and get more laps, or just less to put back in when charging...

Oh and this guy wants it built in 2 weeks!

I only know of the 5682 in a 910kv that's close to that range........still a pretty meaty motor..........4000+ watts. As a comparison, a 1717 is 45 x 85mm, and folks including myself have hit 60 in similar sized monos with it...........just a thought on the 5682, could possibly get you up there...........? May well end up needing a 5692 though.

You do not need 10,000 mAh with 45C cells to get everything out of the Leopard motor. Here is something to consider using a 1000 Kv motor.

I have been following that build but forgot about it till now
                    looks like the same kv
it runs to the limits on 10s1p but runs comfy on 10s2p and 8s2p

Steve has several 730 Kv 5692s in stock:
                        http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...o-5692&cat=148
These would allow you to use larger props in the 62-65mm range.
