In my limited experience with airbrushing...If i had to buy all the colors @ a min of 7$ each for basic colors. Pearls ,metal flake 10-20$ per bottle. Then a good 2 part clear bout 40$ then base coats 6$ ..... It adds up fast Then there is the time. Masking can be a challenge and takes time. Its all done in layers with intercoats. That in itself adds time. An efficiant and good airbrusher could do it im a couple weeks with a steady effort.
My mono.... The templates to do the sides took 2 weeks to make.
Ill free hand them next time....

I have sevral boats on the bench and i plan on going with alot of vynil, its alot easier and cheaper, not to mention it can look better. .

you used a stencil on the side of the boat?

They made the neon yellow lettering. This stuff will peel the paint off before it comes loose. I was also able to spray a clearcote over it.

there are others at different forums that do the same. one doesn't have to go very far.
you would surprise yourself if you can get to an airbrush. practice is cheap also.

Yes i used stencil I wanted both sides to be the same. That is all airbrush no vynil. My 1st attempt at airbrushing. For the stencil I found the disign. then scaled it to the right size. From 4 inches to 40 inches. Then transfered it to thin plastic and cut it out. After I scaled it I printed it and cut it out to make a pattern to go by.. Then I transferred the patternt to the masking on the boat and cut the masking. Cutting the masking can make or break a paint job. It is not even a fun or easy job to cut thru masking and not the paint below....
