    Steve,

I REALLY wish people would stick with the facts of what is ACTUALLY being done, and not listen to the lingering hype seeded by the German's in our country... While you are correct that this is technically possible, it's NOT what is actually happening, nor what we are aiming to do...

This kind of hype just scares people off, and it's really for no legit reason...

When the rules are written to reflect it, I won't have a reason to say it.

I have tested A123 4 cell packs in some of my boats in 1p and 2p setups I was not happy the voltage was way off for my liking which = slower boat

            Mike,
What pack did you replace with the A123 4S pack? In the E-flight community it is very common to add a cell when going to A123's. In my Edge I went from a 3S Lipo pack to a 4S A123 pack for the fact that the voltage on the A123's is 3.3V compaired to the 3.6V of a Lipo cells and also the fact that they sag voltage a little more then Lipo's.

            Cheers,
            Jim

Can I get some dimentions on the cells posted?. Last night I had a problem fitting my 4s-1p packs in the Rio. I am wondering if 4s in 123 end to end is the way to go here.

                Tom,
a 4S pack like this == is 135MMX55MM and the cell diameter is 25MM.

                Cheers,

Darin, that is bollocks. I love that people of different origin can state their opinions without a racist reply, to possibly a better solution? The Germans??

Nothing racist about it... I shouldn't have pluralled it, that's all.... a particular German FE'er has some thinking that 400amp N2's are going to be the norm... That's simply not accurate and has not been the case... but I shouldn't have assumed that everyone knows the history behind this type of discussion...

That being said... I happen to be German as well... I'm not sure I can be racist against myself!

Sorry for the confusion and if I offended anyone... Well... other than that particular German, who I'm sure would agree that we have no love lost between us!

Darin, no offense but you did state Germans in our country. Lighten up and by the way the name Jordan, is of Irish or English descent

I didn't have any idea your last name had anything to do with your ansestry. A good part of my genetic make up is indian(feather not dot..lol) & I'm not named after an animal or an inanimate object...lmao...I kill me sometimes.

Some people have a hard time accepting that some could care less about NAMBA or IMPBA racing. These people cannot have a vision of someone using a battery less than what they think is the best. I happen to think that A123 are a great option knowing the background now, I use to be against them. You can buy the packs on E-bay or even Wal-Mart. A123 may not fit a NAMBA class, who cares, just add another cell. Since these same people believe they are the only true racers, they blame the majority (non NAMBA, IMPBA racers) for killing the sport. In fact it's backassward, they are killing it with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ rules.

It's a shame to see the Red Board crap on here, but as usual, some cannot get away from it.

                              Steve,
Thanks for clearing that up....I am a total sport runner and have no idea about the rules that the diffrent sanctioning body use. For me running a 4S2P lipo pack I am going to go 5S2P with the A123's because I can LOL.

                              Cheers,

Sooooo back to the original question.

I am interested to hear from guys who have used these batteries.
With the R & D that is going on I feel these will soon replace lipos in industry and therefore maybe RC.
