yeah well this will be the setup when or if i decide to get a 540 brushless lol .there will be 2x5000mah 2cells one on each side to ballence the boat. in series to be 4cell 5000mah. then a 125amp esc sitting where the old battery tray is. then a 540 brushless. ill show you a picture of what i mean. Let me know if this is the best option for top speed? thanks alot

what is your goal for the boat, how fast do you want to go? how long would you like to drive? dont be frustrated if what you have does not work out , trial and error is the way of the rc world. there are very good alternitives to what powering you boat now, the ul-1 motor and the right sizing of lipos you can go from mild to wild with the change of a prop. dont be afraid to tear that motor mount out and replace it with something stout these motors are very powerful and have been know to come loose if not secured properly.

Yeah well is the layout of all the electrics right? Now it's up to me to choose the right motor lol. Yeah my mate put extra araldite around all the mount so it should be well and truly strong enough. And I want to go as fast as possible, as long as the hull can handle it I will be happy. Thanks

Hey what's the fastest 540 motor out that I can get for around $40? And also do the 540 brushless fit in the stock motor mount? My mate said it will

hey everyone. has anyone run these prince boats on 6cell cause i was thinking of getting a motor that handles 6cell but im not sure if the hull will be able to handle that kind of speeds lol . what do you guys think?

Hey everyone changed my mind I'm probably going to sell the 380L 380xl and 2x3cells and giving a 540 brushless a shot on2x4cells. What do you guys think of the new setup of where I will putting the batteries?? Will that give me maximum speed on 4cell where I have the 2 batteries? Or will the stock position be better?? Hope to hear from u soon about the placement of batteries?? Thanks alot

well if you run 6s=22,2 volts then it all depends on the kv of the motor you multiply the volts times the kv of the motor to get your unloaded prop speed, typically 20,000-25,000 sport running- up to 30,000 racing and beyond for just speed runs this a just a rule of thumb to start

its not always about the motor either, you gain speed by having you boat properly trimmed for the conditions of the water and the right balanced and sharpened prop, battery placement and the center of gravity which is about 30% the length of the hull
( 25"x .30=7.5") measure 7.5" from rear of the boat toward the front this will give you a starting place then adjust as need be

remember if the boat is to fast it will end up upside down which is no fun

                      Your layout pictured is correct.
                      from post #17
                      2) Look for a UL1 set up motor and ESC. Get two 2s 5000 mah 30c Turnigy Lipos
and run 4s1p. (batteries in series)
Put the bats along side of the motor
Get the COG (Center Of Gravity) about 7" from the back of the boat.

If you want a picture of mine (approx. 40 kmph) on 4s1p 5000mah 30c with an AMMO 3650 2300kv running a x440 Octura
                      just ask.

                      Please read this.
You should for a matter of convention start using a "S" instead of the word cell
                      when speaking of Lipos.

                      1s= 3.7 volt or a 1 "cell" Lipo battery (2s = 2 x 3.7v = 7.4 volt

                      1 cell = 1.3 volt or a 1 cell NiMh battery (2 cell = 2 x 1.3v = 2.6 volt)

                      Sure hope this helps
